"Hey." Zelle poked her head through the door and greeted the bronzerider with a grin. The sight of her in the infirmary was not unusual. In fact, she had become quite well known as she had made a point to visit J'darin as often as possible - which was pretty much every day. The healers greeted her by name each time she arrived.
Occasionally she would bring something. Perhaps a shell she found upon the beach, a flower that she would then tuck into his tunic, or playfully settle behind an ear only to laugh at him. That time, she carried a small bundle wrapped well, the shape unwilling to give a hint to its contents. "Good, you're awake. I've got something for you."
The Healers had indeed become used to Zelle visiting, so much so that they didn't bother J'darin at all when she was there. He had come to relish her visits almost as much as the time he spent with Hasaarth. He told himself it was because those were both healer-free times, but he knew that he was probably lying to himself.
He'd been doing that so much since he'd been hurt...
Putting those thoughts aside to welcome the greenrider, he sat up and smiled at her. "Hello Zelle." his smile broadened with interest. "Another present for me? You're far too good to me. What did you bring me this time, lass? Something with alcohol in it ?" His eyes twinkled.
"No, I'm afraid not. Nothing with alcohol." Zelle crossed over to his bed and leaned forward to whisper in a conspiratory manner, "Though if you're good, I might be able to finagle that." She leaned back and grinned, then thrust the bundle at him. "Go on, open it."
He took the bundle gingerly. Once, she'd brought him a beautiful shell, but it had had a sharp edge. She had laughed. "Nothing his going to bite me, right?"
"Well...it won't bite _hard_." Zelle stated with a giggle. "Go on, go on, it's not dangerous."
He started opening it but before he'd gotten two or three levels of the heavily wrapped bundle open, the warm, wonderful smell of a bubbly pie curled up into his nose. He paused to breathe in the smell and something akin to rapture crossed his face. "Oh, Zelle... you're a wonderful lass, aren't you? This smells delicious! I haven't had anything like this since they jailed me in here!" He grinned up at her as he finished unwrapping and took a huge bite, smearing juice all over his chin. "Want some?" But it came out like "a'sum?" because his mouth was full.
"No, that's okay." Zelle grinned as she moved a chair over and plunked herself down to sit beside him. "To be honest, there were two, one for each. I just couldn't wait to it it until I get here so..." The greenrider crossed her legs and leaned back, "I actually have something I want to talk to you about."
He swallowed his bite and laughed at her. "Hungry, hmm?" His smile faded a bit at her ending statement. "What's on your mind, lovely? Its not like I'm going anywhere..."
