Characters: D'ren, Reysla
Description: After losing Dysali's flight, D'ren finds someone to burn off his flight lust with, and it doesn't take much convincing to make him stay.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 11, day 6 of Turn 4

Reysla eyed the dragonriders as they began to stumble from the mating cot. One by one, disappointed males began to stumble forth, dazed and still filled with the lust that dragonflights brought forth. Her eye caught one in particular, and she watched him, a slow, lazy smile twisting her lips upwards.

D'ren hardly knew where he was. Menanth had lost. Another dragon had flown Lillyth. He felt bitter disappointment, but more than that, he felt need. He needed a woman. He'd hardly turned before he faced a young woman, his eyes dark with lust.

Reysla closed what little distance was between her and the rider and she tugged at his tunic, drawing him into her. She didn't say a word, but pulled him down, her mouth covering his.

He eagerly returned the kiss, his arms going around her waist. "Take me somewhere. Somewhere close," he muttered.

"Mmm." Reysla slipped back out of his grasp, but her hand caught his and she pulled him along, ducking into one hallway, turning down another, then slipping inside a room. She pulled him over to the bed and sat down upon it, drawing him down with her and kissing him once more.

His hands tugged at her clothes. He didn't care that he didn't know her, all he cared about was his need.

Reysla helped him along, slipping out of her tunic and skirt, then making short work of his own clothing, tossing the material aside without a care of where it fell, then joining her lips to his own once more.

D'ren moved fast, doing what his lust demanded of him. He let it take him over, welcoming it. All he knew was his need, and the woman beneath him, fulfilling it. He didn't think about the lost flight, he didn't think about Dysali or their fights over the last month. He didn't think about I'ster.

Neither of them thought much about anything save for the pleasure of fulfilment.

~ ~ ~

There was something about mating flights that always made her sleepy afterwards. It wasn't always that way with sex, but it always seemed to be that way when she participated in the frenzy from a dragon chase. Reysla was half asleep, then suddenly startled herself away, as if she had been plagued by some dream. But it wasn't a dream. She didn't really know why she had jerked like that. She opened her eyes and lifted herself up to get a better look at the man with whom she had shared herself. He had caught her eye before, but now she had a more leisurely time to gaze at him.

"Dysali ..." he muttered. He opened his eyes to a strange woman. "Who --?" The lost flight came back to him. "Oh, you're ... um, hi." He'd only slept with a stranger once before, the last time he'd lost Dysali's flight, and he felt awkward.

"Well, well, hello to you too, handsome." Reysla propped her head upon her hand, continuing to study him, observing the nuances of his features and how they moved when he talked. "I'm sorry I wasn't what you expected, but I hope I wasn't too much of a disappointment."

"Um, no. It was nice. You were very nice. Thank you," he finished lamely.

"Nice huh?" Reysla laughed softly and shook her head. "Boy, what a way to stroke my ego."

"Sorry. I'm still ... a little new to this." He sat up, gathering the sheets around his waist.

"It's all right, really. By the way," Reysla shifted, sitting up and not bothering to cover herself. "I'm Reysla."

He swallowed, feeling a stir of leftover dragonlust. "I'm D'ren, bronze Menanth's rider." He offered his hand and pulled his gaze up to her face with an effort.

"Well met D'ren, bronze Menanth's rider." Reysla took his hand, her hold firm upon it. "I must say, this was a rather pleasant way to get introduced."

"I suppose it was." He managed a smile.

"I certainly enjoyed it." Reysla leaned forward, her lips just an inch away from touching his. "And if you didn't enjoy the last time, I can certainly try again."

His heart sped up. What about Dysali? He'd promised her that he would go to her after a flight. But was she still with the man who had won her flight? Maybe he should check. But his body wanted to stay. But, but ... "I should ..."

"You should what?" Reysla's breath was warm against his skin and she let her hand trail across his flesh, dancing, teasing.

**I should go back to Dysali.** But did he want to? Back to her trying to cheer him up, back to her telling him it wasn't his fault? Back to that look in her eyes ... He could forget here. He could be someone else here. "Tell me you want me to stay," he said. "Tell me you want me."

"Oh honey," Reysla's voice was low and she leaned forward so that her lips just barely met his as she spoke, "I definitely want you to stay."

He pulled her against him and kissed her. All his shyness was gone as he pushed her back onto the bed, his mouth exploring hers and his hands exploring her body.
