Description: Zelle and K'hetah find out that they are now neighbors.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 11, day 2 of Turn 4
It was a wonderful evening. Zelle had taken some food from the dining hall and brought it back to her weyr. A towel lay beside her where she had perched on the edge of her ledge, feeting danging over the edge, her gaze upon the sea as it lapped at the shore. Two meatrolls, originally three and a few pieces of fruit decorated the towel, but it wouldn't be long before Zelle had eaten them all. Rillith lay behind her, curled up and resting, though not asleep. The sky was coloured with brilliant shades of gold, orange, and red, a delightful show for the greenrider.
K'hetah paused in the dragon weyr, leaning close to the riding straps that hung on the pegs hammered into the wall. The last light of the day was shining into the weyr and illuminating the straps but what he had thought was a fault proved to be a shadow and moving the strap reassured the bronzerider.
Happy that his straps were all right after all he continued out onto his ledge and his evening ritual of relaxing while he watched the sun go down.
**Isn't this a gorgeous view?** Zelle asked her dragon. The green lifted her head to gaze out.
}:Yes, it is. I like this weyr.:{ Rillith replied, settling down again.
**I guess I'll have to do better about cleaning up after myself.** Zelle stated thoughtfully. Since there was no corridor access, drudges couldn't easily get there to clean up or take her laundry.
}:That would be a good thing.:{ Her dragon quipped.
Zelle grinned, then laughed out loud, not from her dragon being funny, but just in delight at seeing the shapes of dolphins dancing among the waves below.
K'hetah looked up from the dolphins at the sound of laughter above him.
Over to the left - the right from their usual point of view as he and Loeth approached their weyr. It was an empty weyr - or had been. Now he could see a pair of feet and legs dangling down the cliff face from the ledge. A new neighbour?
He cleared his throat. It seemed foolish to pretend he didn't know she was there, and possibly embarrassing should she not realise how well sound carried on the cliff. "Lovely evening," he said in a not much more than conversational tone.
The sound of another voice rather startled her and Zelle looked toward the way from which it had come - one right next door. That wasn't as surprising, however, as the fact that it was a voice she recognised.
"K'hetah?"
"_Zelle_?"
Laughter met his question and she leaned over as far as she could without actually falling over the side. "Well, I'll be. It _is_ you.
Imagine that!"
"I'm imagining," he said, eyeing the greenrider with disfavour, "and it's not all that enjoyable."
The smile fell from Zelle's face. "Wh...why? What did I do?"
"Moved in a dragonlength away? You don't think that's taking your interest in seeing my weyr a little too far?"
"K'hetah, I had no idea you lived here." Zelle stated firmly. "You never showed me your weyr, remember? You just showed me the entire Weyr."
"I pointed it out. I pointed right at it," he said, hearing a whining tone in his voice that he didn't much like.
There was a pause before Zelle asked, her voice sharp, "Before or after you hit me?"
"I didn't - Well, I _did_ but I was trying to save you. Look, let's not argue -" Especially not argue up and down the cliff the way they were -
that was just ridiculous. "You're my new neighbour but since there aren't corridors that doesn't mean much."
"Yeah, I'm sure. Nothing really means much to you does it?." Zelle pushed herself to a standing position. She didn't mean much to him at all. "Good night, K'hetah." And without waiting for any sort of reply from him, she retreated into her weyr.
"Good night Zelle," he muttered under his breath. He turned at looked at Loeth who seemed unconcerned by his rider's squabble. "That wasn't what I meant, you know. She just took it the wrong way."
But Loeth, while something in the bond that joined him and his rider hinted at amusement, had nothing to say.
