Description: K'hetah finds J'darin and Zelle together after the weyrleader doesn't show up for a meeting.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 10, day 17 of Turn 4
It was almost one full candlemark passed the time that J'darin had scheduled to meet with K'hetah this morning. Unfortunately, the Weyrleader was setting an extremely bad example by being passed out from drinking in his weyr, with a lovely greenrider draped across him.
Hasaarth had been trying to wake him for at least half a candlemark, and finally had called Loeth's to come and wake him. He should have heard his dragon. He _should_ have.
}:Loeth. Please ask yours to come. Mine will not wake up. And he is late!:{ In fact, J'darin had heard Hasaarth. But he had ignored him, and simply turned over and fallen asleep again with an arm looped about Zelle.
Nothing had happened between them - other than too much drinking - but it was certainly peculiar to see the shirtless weyrleader in bed with someone that was _not_ Maurgen. And most likely, all the denials in the world would fall on deaf ears.
He would tell Maurgen all about it, if he ever woke up. She would understand. He had had to grieve for I'ster ... somehow. Zelle had just helped him find an outlet through her own grief.
K'hetah had been waiting for the Weyrleader in the man's office for what he considered more than long enough when Loeth relayed his request. **Is he ill, do you think?** Or hungover, perhaps, the bronzerider thought as he made his way from the Weyrleader's office to the rider's quarters of the Hasaarth's weyr. **Is Hasaarth worried?**
}:By his rider's lateness,:{ Loeth said with some amusement.
Hasaarth bellowed, very loudly. }:WAKE UP!:{ J'darin jumped into the air and then fell out of the bed with a loud thump, just as Hasaarth sent again, in a more normal tone. }:Loeth's is here.:[ Was that _smugness_ in his dragon's voice? J'darin's eyes were bleary as he tried to sort out what had happened. He looked up at the bed and found Zelle there too, beginning to stir.
"I'm interrupting something, aren't I?" K'hetah said from the doorway of the room, surveying the Weyrleader on the floor beside the bed and somebody - was that _Zelle_? - on the bed.
Zelle murmured something and reached out toward the warm body that had suddenly moved over. It wasn't there and the realisation that a rather familiar voice had said something sifted through her foggy brain. She opened her eyes squinted and her gaze met not J'darin, but her old Wingleader. "K'hetah?" Her head ached and she reached up, placing her hand over her forehead. "Wait...K'hetah?"
J'darin tried to focus on K'hetah. "Only a hangover, K'hetah..." he barely managed to speak. He tried to get Zelle's attention. "Its K'hetah. K'hetah.. wait... in my weyr?"
Hasaarth was definitely smug. }:You have missed a meeting with Loeth's. He has come to wake you. You would not wake when I called.
You would _not_. I thought you had injured yourself.:{ Astonished that his _dragon_ had not been able to get through to him, J'darin leaped to his feet. Or... he tried. Unsteady at best, he scanned the bedroom. "I'm sorry K'hetah. I'll be right out... "
Sort of.
Zelle lifted a hand to her forehead. It didn't hurt so much as she was just still rather foggy from the whole thing. "What are you doing here?" She managed to finally sputter, squinting up at her former Wingleader.
K'hetah eyed them both. "What am _I_ doing here? I think that's a long way down the list of questions that need to be asked - but not by me. And not now. Weyrleader, I'll let the meeting know you'll be with us shortly. Zelle, I'm sure you have drills or duties you should be at."
The Wingleader didn't bother to wait around for responses from either of the pair. They could make any explanations they cared to at a more suitable time.
"Shards and sharding shells!" J'darin swore loudly, then put a hand to his head. It was too loud. "Great example! The great Weyrleader, felled by wine and a pretty greenrider..." He was muttering to himself, and as he found his clothes, he went to Zelle. "Come on Zelle... I've got to go. He's never going to let me forget today."
The worst part was, the man would never say a word!
**You should have woken me!** He turned his attention to Hasaarth.
Hasaarth had never been unable to reach him.
}:I tried. I was worried. I tried and tried. You would not listen.
I had to call him. :{ A groan at that, and J'darin sighed, splashing water over his drawn and pale face. **Next time, call Tilarth's or Lillyth's or someone who won't look at me that way...**
"Zelle?"
"Yeah...yeah..." Zelle sighed and rubbed her face. "Shaffit, I'm going to be in big trouble at home." She shook her head and ran a hand through her hair, staring at the door. Why did K'hetah have to walk in on them like that? What was she going to say to him?
Dressed and mildly refreshed, but with an aching head, J'darin went to Zelle and kissed the top of her head. "If you get in huge trouble at home, please let me know. I will do what I can. I have to go.. " He paused, having no idea what to say. This was awkward.
"Yeah, I do too." Zelle managed a small smile. "Sorry J'darin. I didn't mean..." She sighed and just resigned herself to muttering once more, "I'm sorry." Then, before he had a chance to respond, she ducked out of the weyr, hoping she wouldn't get reamed too badly from her home leadership.
