Description: Zelle brings J'darin a gift.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 10, day 16 of Turn 4
Hello J'darin." Zelle stated as she tapped the Weyrleader upon his arm and turned her smile to him. "It seems you just can't get rid of me, doesn't it?"
J'darin was sprawled on a bench in the dining caverns pouring over a Wing roster, his brow knit together in a little concern. I'ster was.. He shook his head. The Wing was a few riders short, thats all.
A mug of cooling klah set as his elbow, almost untouched for at least a half candlemark.
He'd retreated here, in between meal times, since his office seemed to be a popular place of late. It wasn't as quiet here, but he did find he shrank into the bench - just one of a few other riders eating late or sipping klah before evening drills.
Startled out of his frown at Zelle's voice - he had not received any warning from Hasaarth or Oak - he looked up at her and summoned a smile. "Hello, lovely greenrider Zelle. No, it appears we cannot get rid of you at all. Welcome back. Come to bask in our fine sunlight again, have you?"
"It's the sea that interests me - we do get sun at my weyr." Zelle plopped herself down on the bench beside him without waiting for any sort of invitation. She produced a long package from beneath one arm and held it out to him. "You've got another package, and I came straight here, no stopping off to see K'hetah first, so there. You can't accuse me of dawdling." Of course, K'hetah had a package too, but she would find him later.
"Of course you get sun there... but not as fine as _our_ sun." He grinned like a boy, proud of a shiny rock he'd collected. "Another package hmm? And good, no dawdling. I don't allow dawdling at _my_
Weyr." And now she could tell he was joking, with that glint in his eye. Sort of.
He took the package and grinned a bit. "It says its from you, Zelle?"
"Does it now?" Zelle leaned over and peered at the names written on the package - J'darin's, and hers. "Why so it does. Imagine that."
The greenrider shrugged, then made a motion towards it. "Well, I guess that means you should open it."
"Stooping to delivering your own gifts? The very idea." He said with a laugh, making a mock shocked face. After a moment, seriousness came to that smile. "Zelle, you shouldn't have done this... I don't need gifts. I _give_ gifts." Silly bronzerider.
But that didn't stop him from opening it with glee, not really protesting with his _whole_ heart. Inside the package was a lovely, well-aged bottle of one of his favorite wines. How had she known?
"Ooooh. Its as lovely as you, greenrider! Thank you so much."
"Be careful how you flatter me, it might get you into trouble." Zelle smiled, though the light didn't quite reach her eyes like it had before. "I just...well, thanks, for being there...with L'den and all."
"I don't mind flattering you, Zelle, as long as it puts a smile on your face." He watched her for a moment, then touched her arm.
"You're very welcome, Zelle. Are you feeling any better? Because if not, I'll open this wine and we'll drink until we forget."
"Oh, I'm invited?" Zelle's smile warmed a little bit and she turned, crossing one leg over the other. "As for feeling better...well, if I don't think too much about it I guess I am." The smile faded then and she looked down. "They cleaned out his weyr today."
J'darin looked up at her for a quiet moment. He reached a finger up to tilt her chin. "I'm sorry, lass. That calls for a drink, if you ask me. Care to come up to my weyr and share a bit? I've got mugs, or we can just drink out of the bottle." In his experience, talking didn't help much. Unless maybe it was to your dragon.
"It doesn't matter." Zelle response was soft and she stared at him for a moment before pulling away to stand. "You know, K'hetah won't even show me his weyr."
J'darin's eyebrow arched. He had thought several times she'd come from K'hetah's weyr. Perhaps not. "Well, I am not K'hetah, and Maurgen won't mind. Besides, you said we are friends, is that not so?"
"Of course it is." A small smile skitted across her lips. "So, I guess, lead on."
