J'darin

J'darin

"Hello Weyrleader." Zelle managed to catch him as he was leaving his office, his hand upon the doorknob. She greeted him with a smile.
"It seems that we meet again." One hand was placed upon her hip, the other cradled a package, tucked carefully beneath her arm.

For some reason, he was not surprised to see her again. She seemed to plague his existence without even trying. But he didn't suppose he minded all that much. "Zelle, hello. My personal messenger has now moved to packages?"

The comment brought a smile to Zelle. Well, he didn't seem nearly as grumpy as he had been last time. "Evidently so. This is from the weyrleader of my weyr. He asked me to bring it to you." Zelle carefully plucked the package from under her arm and held it out to J'darin. "I think I probably would have taken at least three firelizards to carry this thing, so I guess that's my excuse."

"From your Weyrleader?" Curiousity raised J'darin's eyebrows. He wasn't that well liked by most of the other Weyrleaders - his decision to lower the fighting age had something to do with it, because it surely wasn't his winning personality - but despite that, all the Weyrleaders on the Southern continent worked well together; liking was just secondary.

He took the package from her with a nod and a smile. "Thank you, greenrider. Off to bother my Wingleader again, are you?"

"It's a requirement." Zelle stated with a laugh. "After all, that's my purpose in life, right?" She grinned, crossing her arms over her chest. "Surely his performance hasn't degraded because of it! Don't worry, I try to make sure to leave all his limbs intact."

J'darin snorted inelegantly. "Just make sure you do leave him..
ahh.. intact." He said it with a faint smile in his voice, though.
It seemed he was getting used to having personal messengers nearly every few days.

"Oh don't worry, it's nothing like _that_." Zelle stated with a snort. "I don't think he'd know what to do with a woman if one threw herself at him."

"Care to make a wager on that, Zelle?" He had gotten used to her by now. He arched his eyebrow cockily at her, the grin following right behind.

"A wager eh?" Zelle placed a hand upon her hip, her own smile growing and eyes twinkling in amusement. "Are you a betting man, Weyrleader J'darin?"

"Only with greenriders who think they know bronzeriders." He waited a moment; few people saw this side of J'darin except perhaps Maurgen and Dyaera. "The only question is how do we find out? Know any greenriders willing to have a little fun with my excellent Wingleader?"

"I don't know about that, Weyrleader." Zelle shook her head in mock solemnity. "You'll be hard pressed to find one."

He crossed his arms and regarded her with equal mocking. "And I'm not looking at a willing volunteer, hmm? Wouldn't you _love_ to find out if K'hetah really does know what to do with women - especially attractive greenriders?"

Zelle leveled her gaze at the weyrleader, eyebrows up and fist placed upon her hip. "So you would consider me attractive?"

"Anyone would, Zelle." He said it matter of factly, and to him, it almost was. He was happy with his Harper, and had never been the kind of bronzerider that tumbled women to bed very often, but he appreciated beauty. And she was lovely. He smiled at her. "I'm surprised you had to ask, greenrider."

"It's always good to hear it." Another smile slowly spread over her lips and Zelle reached up to push a strand of hair behind her ear. The smile tightened a bit at her next words. "As for K'hetah, I'd doubt he would touch me with a ten foot pole." She waved her hand as if the idea should be dismissed. "Anyway, I do have to get back to my weyr.
I actually have an appointment to keep." She paused, then added, "It was nice seeing you again, Weyrleader. At first, I didn't know what to make of you, but I think I'm starting to like you." She grinned again, then turned and sauntered down the hallway.

J'darin looked after her, not sure if her liking him was a good or a bad thing. Either way, he laughed and shook his head. Perhaps he could talk her into the wager her next visit; he would love to poke a bit at K'hetah. Just for fun of course.
