Characters: Larstad, Benaroy
Description: Larstad has a bone to pick with Zelanka - so sees Lord Benaroy instead
Location: Amber Hills Hold
Date: month 6, day 2 of Turn 4

"I came back from Barley Hills Hold, Lord Benaroy, and _your_ Headwoman has entered _my_ workroom without permission and has _completely_disorganized_ it_. Nothing is in a rational place and it's going to take me several days to undo the work she's done so that I can go about Hold business. And that is not taking into account the time she's lost me on my Journeyman's project!" Larstad turned on his heel when he reached the end of Lord Benaroy's office, and paced back the way he'd come. He was far too worked up to sit. "You're aware that I'm building a clock, and she- without my permission-- has set me back by at least a _week_ -- and that is if I had a week to set aside to attend to a personal project! Unbelievable! I _told_ her that _I_ would invite drudges into that space, and that _I_ would oversee them so that this sort of fiasco would be avoided, and instead she sent a bunch of uneducated, ignorent women to go through my things and they've made a complete _mess_ of everything!"

The Lord Holder blinked up at the man as he folded his hands patiently on his desk. Deciding the man had finished, he asked calmly, "That is certainly very unfortunate, Larstand, but why exactly are you telling _me_ all this?"

"Because _you_ need to keep her out of my workroom, and make sure that she stays out unless I request her presence!"

Benaroy snorted. He found that idea rather amusing. "You assume too much about a Lord Holder's power over a woman."

Larstad whirled to face the Lord, scowling. "Don't be absured. You're the Lord Holder and she's the Headwoman, not your sharding wife."

"You forget yourself, journeyman," the Lord Holder scowled back, no longer amused.

The Smith closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He'd never been particularly good at keeping his temper. "My apologies, Lord Benaroy,"
he said after a moment, "but something _must_ be done."

"Have you spoken to Zelanka about this yet?" Benaroy could imagine the answer to that was no. If Larstad had confronted Zela with as much vehemence as he apparently felt at the moment he would have not come out of the encounter a whole man... "I spoke with her before I left. If she didn't listen to me then she won't listen to me now, which is why I am asking you to deal with it."

"And what exactly did you say before you left?" The Lord Holder could feel another headache coming on. He felt like he was disputing another argument between children rather two of his employees.

The Smith crossed his arms and glowered. "I _told_ her to stay out of my workroom and that when I needed a drudge, _I_ would summon one and I would supervise so that this sort of- of-" he spluttered, trying to think of something that wouldn't be offensive. "Of- _travesty_ wouldn't happen!"

"But it is not _up_ to you, Larstad. That workroom is space granted to you by the Hold. You can't keep it in any level of disaray you please. It is not your private living quarters." Though the man probably spent as much time in his office as he did his rooms. "Why did you let it get to the point where she would send her drudges in?"

"It was a little dirty but that is not the point! Zelanka and I had already discussed it and reached a solution - that _I_ would supervise.
Zelanka then took advantage of my absence to willfully create havoc -
unintentionally or not - and quite frankly I cannot do my work if I cannot _find_ anything. And that is not even including having my clockwork meddled with - I cannot do my work for the Hold in a timely manner when she disrupts my workroom. The fact that we had come to an agreement and then she _broke_ it -- _that_ is what I take the most issue with. There has to be a degree of trust between members of your Hold for your Hold to properly function and she has made that impossible."

The Lord Holder sighed. As if he didn't have enough on his plate. "Well, if the Headwoman broke an agreement, that is a serious problem. I will speak with her."

"Thank you." That would apparently be all that Larstad got out of his Lord Holder, but it would be a start. And he'd have to change his locks for sure, now...
