Location: Vintner Hall
Date: month 3, day 28 of Turn 4

Kaldyn held open the door of the Tavern, and waited for Karei and Reia to enter
before following them inside. The day wasn't too bad, but the Tavern was nice and
warm and the smells that reached them as they walked in, started their mouths
watering immediately.

"Oh Dah," Reia looked up and smiled, "This place tastes nice to my nose."

"Mine as well, Sweetling." Kaldyn chuckled, giving Karei a sideways glance he
noticed she was stifling a chuckle as well. "Come on, let's find us some seats.
I'm starving, and right now my stomach feels as though my throats been cut."

Karei nodded, and they made there way through the other diners and found
themselves a small table that had been newly cleared.

Bhervehan noticed the family enter the tavern, and knew he hadn't seen them
before. Nodding to the man, the father? he welcomed them "Greetings, I've not
seen you in my Tavern before. I am Bhervehan, your host."

"I'm Kardyn," Kardyn stood and offered his hand in friendship, "lately come to
Amber Hills Hold from Amethyst Cliff Hold." He turned back to the table, "My wife
Karei, and my daughter Reia." Both Karei and Reia looked up and smiled in
acknowledgement.

"Welcome, what brings you here?"

"Food!" Kaldyn quipped, "Also, I have need of business, and thought you may be
willing to help to that end." He hoped he wouldn't be overstepping the boundaries,
but nothing ventured nothing gained. "But first food. We're all hungry for those
delicious smells coming from your kitchens."

"Food it is," the Tavern Master said. "After you are fed, we will discuss other
matters."

"What do you recommend?" Kaldyn asked, "Do you have a special for the day?

"Not for lunch, just some hot and cold sandwiches, left over Roast Beef from last
night," Bhervehan said.

"That sounds fine to me." Kaldyn nodded then looked to Karei and Reia, "Same for
you girls?" he asked.

"A nice hot, roast beef sandwich sounds wonderful." Karei agreed, "Make it three
then," she looked up at Bhervehan, "and two glasses of wine, and a glass of juice
for Reia please?"

"She's the boss, so what she says goes." Kaldyn chuckled.

"Aren't they always?"

Kaldyn nodded and rolled his eyes, but felt Karei's hand slap him across the
stomach when she saw his expression. "As she said, three hot sandwiches and a
couple of wines." he repeated meekly.

"And my drink Dah!" Reia piped up.

"Yes Sweetling, and your fruit juice." he turned back to Bhervehan, "See, I have
two of them to answer to."

"My daughter is twenty one turns, it never ends, my friend."

"Don't I know it." Kaldyn laughed, "Been there - done that, our daughter is at the
Weyr, greenrider Karemyn, she's the oldest of our brood at twenty seven turns.*

"And is fully convinced you couldn't find your head without her help, right?"

"They _all_ do that." Kaldyn laughed, as Karei leaned forward and punched his arm.

"Remember, dear one, I'm the one who will be cooking your evening meal tonight."
Karei smiled sweetly across at her husband. "And you," she looked up at
Bhervehan, "well, I can't threaten you with anything, except that I'll encourage
your daughter, once I get to meet her." She smiled to soften her words and gave
the Tavern Master a quick wink.

A mighty laugh erupted from Bhervehan. "Please, she needs no encouragement."

"Really?" an evil smile crept over Karei's face.

Kaldyn recognise the look on his wife's face. "Ohhh, you shouldn't have said
that!" he chuckled, "Now she knows you're vulnerabilities."

Bhervehan sighed. "I never did know when to shut up around women."

Karei sat at the table and chuckled quietly, amused and feeling instantly at home
here.

"What's so funny mam?" Reia asked, looking from one adult to the next, but none of
them looked like making sense any time soon. "Do I still get a drink?" she looked
plaintively and once again her gaze went from one to the other.

"No child goes thirsty in my Tavern, dear girl."

"Yes, Reia, a drink and something to eat. We didn't forget." Kaldyn assured his
daughter, ruffling her hair. "And I'm sure Karei would like to meet your daughter."

"Luckily for me, she is not here just now," he said with a smile.

"Ah, well there will come a time when she will be, be assured of that." Karei
wagged her finger at the Tavern Keeper.

Kaldyn tried hard to stifle his laughter. "She won't forget, you know."

"They never do."
