Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 3, day 14 of Turn 4

Saria gasped as she felt yet another dragon return /between/ from the Fall in pain. Even knowing they were dragons now didn't help. She stumbled down to the weyrbowl. She had to see them. She had to know it was the dragons in pain and not her poor twisted mind.

She saw a man run to an injured dragon and begin to slather the scoring with numbweed. the knot in Saria's stomach eased as she felt the dragon relax. She walked up to the man. "Does that always work?" She asked clutching her easing stomach.

E'naer turned to look the girl. She wasn't rider, nor a healer, so she shouldn't be here. The non-rider staff stayed indoors during the falls. "Yes, it does.
What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be inside?" He turned to his own dragon. ** Eillie, talk to him.
Tell him it's all right. The pain is gone now. ** }: I am, :{ the green replied, talking to the injured dragon with soothing, caring tones. "I... I had to see him. To know he was real." She held a hand out to the pained dragon. "Shhh, its alright. The pains gone see?" The dragon turned red whirling eyes in Saria's direction, but calmed down as her words proved true. She was so intent on helping the dragon she didn't even notice the green's words.

E'naer watched her and his browns furrowed. "What's your name, girl?" he asked. Saria clutched at her stomach as another dragon returned /between/ in pain. "Saria," she gasped trying to force the pain from her head and body.
**Its not real. I'm not feeling this.** she told herself. But she was feeling it. She grabbed the mans arm in her fight to remain standing.

Finally the pain eased as the dragon was slathered in numbweed. "I'm sorry." She said thinking fast. "Stomach cramp." she supplied. "My name is Saria, Apprentice Baker."

"I'm E'naer and if you insist being here, you might as well help, " the greenrider said and pushed a large jar of numbweed into her hands. He had patients, and no time for her. Saria followed him silently as he moved onto another dragon. The beast writhed in his pain, and Saria fought the urge to throw up from the pain she felt. Her mind insticntively went out to the dragon as she began to slather numbweed on her scar. "Shhh, green dragon, its alright. The pain is gone see?" she murmured to the dragon, and it turned pain swirling eyes onto her.

}:Thank you.:{ the dragon said. Saria smiled.

}: You are doing well, :{ Eillispeth complimented her.

**Eillie? Are you talking to her directly? ** E'naer was surprised. }: Yes, she can hear us :{ the gentle green replied.
**She does?** E'naer thought about it for a while.
**It kind of makes sense and explains why she is here.
Feeling all this pain must be difficult. ** Saria grinned at the green dragon who had addressed her. "Thank you." She said as the brown she addressed calmed enough to let the dragonhealer work on him.

E'naer was suddenly happy of her help. If she could talk dragons directly, it would make the dragonhealing easier. They moved from dragon to dragon, Saria and Eillispeth calming the dragons enough to allow E'naer near them. By the third or fourth dragon Saria realized she wasn't feeling as much pain. The knot in her stimach she didn't know was there began to ease. Before she knew it the Fall was over. Saria turned to give the much depleted numbweed pot back to E'naer.

"Thank you, Saria, you were a great help. You and Eillispeth worked well together," the Weyrlingmaster's third complimented.

"Thank you." She said absently. "Eillispeth is very good at calming dragons." She said, patting the greens nose affectionately.

"Yes," E'naer agreed, rubbinb Eilli's eyeridges, "a result of lot of practice and the right personality." Saria nodded in agreement. "Thank you for allowing me to stay outside." She said shily. "I don't think I could have stayed inside with that."

"Hey, no problem. You were a great help. You might want to consider switching craft to dragonhealing,"
E'naer grinned. ** Or impressing. Do you thing she would make a good rider, Eilli?** }: How should I know, I don't do searches, :{ The green replied indifferently. Saria didn't know why the dragon sounded a bit miffed but Saria had a sneaking suspision it was her. "Oh Eillispeth don't be mad at him because of me. I don't want to cause trouble."

"You're not trouble," E'naer assured her.

She wouldn't let this man she barely knew that she thought she was. Ever since she found out she could hear dragons it had been nothing _but_ trouble. but he didn't need to know that. "Oh," she said meekly, surprised that she could be that quiet. She'd never been a quiet girl.

"Hey, hey, don't look that meek. Come on, let's have something to eat and you will tell how you discovered this unique talent of yours?" E'naer said and suggested. Saria smiled at him. "I'd like that. Its quite a tale..." She took his arm in hers and led him off to the Dining Hall.
