Description: Daynar and Miralani's wedding shows that only one of them knows what
they're getting into!
Location: Garnet Valley Hold
Date: month 2, day 28 of Turn 4
Daynar was leaving strings of astonished folks in his wake as he fairly danced through the halls of the Smithhall. At Last! Today, he was going to marry Miralani. He had even been nice to Otrina and let her buy anything she wanted for this day, up to and including having new dresses made. He wanted her to look her best, true, but more than that, he was feeling incredibly generous. He _even_ managed not to snarl at a fire lizard that tried to steal one of his very shiny buttons on his new Gather-best outfit as he carried it down the hall, wrapped protectively in hides, and went to his runner - already saddled - to head over to the Hold. He didn't _want_ to get married at the Hold, but Miralani did, so he had given in, as he had with everything else. It was her day, after all. His clothes were of a very soft, fine weave, golden dyed threads shining out from a darker, smokey gray tunic and trousers. His hair was combed and he looked quite handsome - for him - as he paced a little in the room he'd been given to wait in at the Hold. Ishek and his sons kept him company and would stand with him, later, but he was looking for brandy as he waited for the sign that things were going to proceed. One last shot of brandy, then he went out into the Great Hall when the Steward called. His heart nearly stopped when he saw her, but then good sense took over. He'd done this before, after all. He could do it again! And it was about time.
Finally!

Daynar leaned close to Miralani, offering her a piece of roast wherry from the plate they were sharing at the main table. "You were a beautiful bride, Miralani. Now you're a beautiful wife." He grinned, a bit foolishly, and not _quite_ sober. "And I intend to show you how beautiful, as soon as we can get away from all .. this!" Miralani smiled and leaned in to kiss her husband gently. "We have a few dances we'll need to do, of course. You really should do your duty by Benaroy's daughter! And I must dance with my brother, and Benaroy's son. But once that's all out of the way..." Her smile was knowing. Daynar's gaze was quite heated as he took in her smile. Of a sudden, he became aware this was no blushing young bride as Otriana had been. Miralani was a full-grown woman in her prime, and he would _definitely_ enjoy taking her to bed. "I don't really want to dance with anyone but you, Miralani, but you are right as usual." He leaned in to kiss her cheek gently, now that he could. "A little more wine, wife?" He offered, his gaze slipping from her's for a moment to find Benaroy's daughter.. wasn't her name Royani?
"Only one more glass." She held out the glass, letting her arm brush against his hand. Her eyes were warm as she watched him fill her glass. "I certainly want to be clear headed tonight!"
Daynar's laugh was low and proprietary. "I think I might want to follow such good advice as that, myself. You are too beautiful not to enjoy, Miralani." He said in a softer tone, touching her arm lightly with his calloused fingers.
"And we're neither of us new to marriage, are we?"
Miralani laughed and shook her head, secretly relieved that Daynar was proving so easy to handle. Obviously the man had no idea who he was really marrying.
That suited her perfectly. "I think you might find there are many advantages to an experienced wife." He didn't even know he was being handled, more's the pity. All he did was smile, need and warmth burning through his eyes as he pulled her close for a kiss, pressing his lips to hers gently, but with promises to come.
"I can't wait to begin. The sooner the better, Miralani, so off with us to do our duties by dancing, hmm?" "I suppose it would be for the best. Before we get distracted..." She rose to her feet and leaned down to brush her lips across her new husband's cheek. "Do your duty, husband," she whispered against his ear. "And when you're done, I'll show you how well I do mine."
With a suggestive smile, she turned to find her brother and invite him for a dance.
Daynar watched her go with pure satisfaction in his gaze. With reluctance, he turned from the attractive picture of his wife dancing with her brother, and starting looking for Royani to do his own 'duty'. Miralani was right; she did her duty well. He believed she would do _all_ her duties well, and he wanted to start.. immediately. But that would be scandalous, so he swallowed another drop of wine and spied Royani off to the side. The sooner the better, indeed!
