Characters: I'lan, Dysali
Description: I'lan goes to visit Dysali
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 7, day 6 of Turn 3

The young bronzerider had been lucky, very lucky. His wing hadn't been in the terrible tragedy of just days ago, but were affected none the less. The Wingleader had been scored trying to help out the former Weyrleader, and it seems that they were only too lucky that N'klos was able to return and take his former place.

Some of his friends had been killed, some hurt more badly than others.
And with that in mind, he headed to the infirmary, to visit Dysali.

When I'lan arrived at the infirmary, D'ren had just been leaving.
Smiling at her second visitor in as many candlemarks, Dysali sat up in her bed. She was allowed to move around, and the Healers had said her bandages could come off in the next few days, and she could actually leave. They were watching for infection or something, she had heard them saying to one another.

She wasn't that badly hurt, after all, though her left arm was going to be a nice mass of scar tissue.

The bandage on her cheek had already come off, and the scar there was small. It was there, but paling and thinning a little. She thought it added character to her impish appearance, really, though she hadn't looked in the silver plate either.

When I'lan appeared, her smile was bright as she welcomed him to the chair just vacated by her young love. "I'lan! Hi! Come to remind me to duck, even when delivering firestone?"

That comment got her a smile as he sat down. "It might help," he joked.
"Can't have you getting more of those, can we."

Dysali smiled and shook her head, though she rather liked having D'ren sitting beside her so much. It was so sweet! But nothing was worth hurting Lillyth. "Not at all, I sure wouldn't want to mar Lillyth's hide any more than we already did!" Her smile broadened. "They say I can leave tomorrow or the next day and even return to duties over the next sevenday!"

"Light duties only I hope," teased I'lan. The bronzerider was only too aware of what could happen if people were rushed back to duty without being fully fit. He'd overexerted himself once or twice before and got hauled into the infirmary because of it.

Dysali made a face that could best be described as petulant, and it made the small scar on her cheek slant upward cockily. "Light duties is all I ever had, anyway, I'lan." She laughed good naturedly. "I'm still too young to fight Thread." Her eyes rolled a bit. "Imagine that. Lillyth and I are such a _good_ team we managed to get Scored before we were even in a fighting wing!"

That did make him grin. "But you will take it easy from now on, won't you?"

Dysali nodded seriously to that. "I did not love my dragon's distress so much that I wish to ever bear it again. I can only imagine what those hurt worse must have felt. And poor Lillyth! I wrecked her perfect green hide.." She was half teasing, but more serious.

"You just concentrate on getting better so you can take care of her," he said, wagging a finger at her in mock seriousness. Lillyth was healing, and that was the main thing. Hurt dragons and people generally recovered, but he'd rather that they weren't hurt in the first place.

}: Menanth and some of the other bronzes say I look very beautiful with my scar. :{ Lillyth said just then, following drowsily along with her rider's conversation.

Dysali choked on her water, and then grinned at I'lan. "She seems to be taking care of herself very well, and has informed me that the bronzes says she looks lovely with a Thread scar." Vaguely, she was aware that Menanth was the only bronze her green ever named by name.

**Naath?** he queried.

}:She is beautiful and always will be.:{ "Naath agrees with them."

Dysali smiled warmly at that, and even winked at I'lan. "We'll see if they all think so when she Rises for the first time... which may very well be delayed now. Thank Naath for me, please!"

"I will do," he said with a smile. "But you just get yourself better first."

A nod and a grin. "I promise, and I'll come and visit you and Bubbly as soon as I am free. How is he?"

"After some attention," he grinned, "Although he might have found himself a ladyfriend again, I'm not seeing a lot of him at times."

The eyebrow on the unscarred side of her face arched and she laughed warmly. "A ladyfriend is it? That may mean I get a puppy sooner than I hoped!" Her eyes sparkled for a moment, then she looked inquiringly at I'lan. "Have you also found a ladyfriend, bronzerider? "

"Not yet," he said.

"That is a shame, I'lan. You are am amazing man. Perhaps I'll help you, once I'm out of here.." She said with a warm smile, her hand waving at the Infirmary around her.

"We'll see," he said. "You just get yourself well again."

She smiled once more, but promised herself to 'help' I'lan as soon as she was free. "I promise. I should be out in a day or two, and I'll come visit you and Bubbly."

"We'll look forwards to it. Maybe I can persuade him to show us his ladyfriend. If he has been getting friendly, then there may well be puppies in a month or so."

Dysali's smile said it all and she squeezed his hand as one of the healers arrived to check her over. "Thank you so much for visiting me, I'lan.
Your friendship has been a very special gift. I cannot thank you enough for all you've done..and will do.. " here she winked. " ..for me."

He was about to say something, when the healer made shooing motions, as if to herd him out the way as one would a small child. "I think I better go," he said.

Dysali frowned at the healer, who was waiting impatiently. "Oh blast.
I'm quite fine, as you can see." She started to sit up. "You don't have to go, I'lan. But they are certainly persistent."

"I'll come and see you again tomorrow, if that's okay with you."

"Perfect, I'lan." She managed a smile for him in spite of the impatient healer. "Thank you for coming today. I enjoyed our visit, and say hi to Bubbly."

"I will do," promised the bronzerider.
