The brownrider cursed himself as he dodged dance partner after dance partner. **You're a wherry's ass, B'ram. You're a pathetic wherry's ass...** What in Faranth's name was he doing? He had found a perfectly wonderful woman to spend the evening with. Dancing, drinking, chatting, a little bit of kissing and caressing and whispers of what was to come at the end of the night. Shards, he was set to bring the new Turn in grand style! So just why was it that one look from the Weyrwoman would get him scrabbling through a crowd after her? There was no doubt in his mind that the woman he had his arms around half the night had been lusting after him, and yet one look from Traelyn that said "I need you and I want you now" had turned him into an obedient canine. He had probably ruined any chance of ever being with that greenrider again after the lame excuses he told, and for what? One night of incredibly hot, passionate, intense, Faranth's-name-how-did-you-do-that sex with a woman he was barely on speaking terms with? **You're a wherry's ass B'ram...**
As soon as she escaped the bright, dazzling lights of the inner cavern into the darker hallway, Traelyn gave a soft sigh of relief and leaned lightly against the wall. The cold stone bit into the bare flesh on her back and shoulders, and she relaxed into it, trying to cool her flushed skin. It was truly amazing how so many bodies in one, confined area could generate so much heat.
The hallway was deserted, she realized, glancing around. Completely deserted. Perhaps it was just as well... No one needed to see her slink off with B'ram. Folding her arms over her chest, she closed her eyes.
Traelyn knew he'd come after her. All she'd had to do was meet his eyes, and she'd known he wouldn't refuse. How could he?
**You should have let him go tonight, Trae,** she silently berrated herself. **You should have...** But she didn't. She couldn't. She just couldn't imagine ending the night with a man she hardly knew...a man who woud give her a wild night of lusty sex--and that was _all_ he'd give her.
Traelyn wasn't in the mood for that.
She wanted something more.
Hearing footsteps, her eyes opened, and she turned her head.
Rounding the corner breathing hard, face red with the heat and anticipation B'ram found the Weyrwoman leaning back against the wall. Shells, he had thought that she would keep going. He thought he would have to hurry just to keep up, but now she would see just how anxious he was to find her. Shards. Now she'd know just how desperate he was to touch her, to be touched by her. She had him at a disadvantage. For his own peace of mind, for the tattered shreds of pride he still had, he had to take control of the situation.
He walked straight to her with a slow, purposed step. The brownrider's fingers slipped behind the back of her neck as he leaned that arm against the wall. His other hand wrapped around her to her rear, pulling her up against him. Leaning fully on his arm he leaned in close enough to stare her straight in the face, their lips inches apart, just daring her to give in and close the distance first. He would _not_ show the first sign of desperation. She just couldn't hold that satisfaction over him as well.
That look on his face was completely recognizable. Closing her eyes, she melted against him, soft curves melding to his hard body. So he saw this as a battle of wills, did he? Traelyn didn't _want_ this to be a battle of wills! Not tonight. One arm wound up his back, hand pressing against the hot flesh of his neck while her other hand rested on his hip, fingers inching the fabric of his shirt up so she could tease the skin beneath. Would he see that tonight it didn't have to be a war? Opening her eyes, her expression startlingly tender, she brushed the tip of her nose against his, the hand at his hip slipping fully inside his shirt. Would he understand?
His stare turned from one of steely resolve to that of utter confusion. Just what was happening? His hand dropped from around her waist and he stood up a little straighter, unsure just what was going on. This was not the Traelyn he had expected. He had seen her be demanding, lusty, venemous, vulnerable, needy... but never _playful_.
The barest of wry smiles whispered across her lips when she saw the look on his face. Apparently he hadn't been expecting this from her. Just as well. She would not be the woman he had always claimed her to be...a woman so easily categorized and put in a corresponding box. She wouldn't. Unwinding herself from him, she took a hold of his hand, fingers sliding suggestively against his as she turned and lead him away, down the hall...towards her weyr.
He followed her almost numbly. B'ram wasn't sure he liked this change in Traelyn. She was too... womanly. But he followed her. He was too addicted not to. Still, he had a feeling something was happening. Something that could change everything.

She didn't speak at all, not even when she pulled him into her weyr...into her sleeping room. The glow baskets were turned down low, the light almost misty it was so soft. Traelyn let her hand slide from his, and she turned her head to look at him over her shoulder. Her expression was shadowed by the half-light, but the look in her eyes was very clear. Inviting.
He stepped up behind her and took the ties in his hands. This was new territory for them. It was slow, seductive... _normal_. This was the way men and women were supposed to act towards each other. It was soft glows and teasing caresses while his fingers brushed against her neck and back as he slowly pulled out the laces.
She sighed softly, eyes half-lidded with pleasure that only _this_ kind of foreplay could bring. It was almost gentle in its way, and as his fingers pulled out the last lace, she couldn't help but remember U'kaiah doing that. B'ram's touch mirrored his...they were very nearly the same.
Wanting to feel his hands on her, Traelyn leaned back.
B'ram wrapped his arms around her waist and burried his nose in her hair. She smelled like flowers. He had never noticed that before. It was probably for the occassion, but shards it was intoxicating. He kissed her neck softly as his arms tightened around her.
This was what she wanted. Her hands went to hold his arms, fingers tracing along the tops. This was it. Traelyn leaned her head back against B'ram's shoulder, guiding his lips to the skin on her throat, encouraging him to keep touching her like that...kissing her like that.
B'ram whispered her name as he followed her lead. Not growled it, not groaned it - _whispered_ it. Shards.
A shiver ran down her spine. Shards...the way he'd just said her name... Turning around in his arms, she gazed up at him, her expression tender as she brushed her fingers against his temple. "Say it again," she murmured softly, leaning up to kiss him gently on the lips.
He leaned into her fingers slightly, looking down into those deep grey eyes. "Trae..."
Shards. U'kaiah might as well have stood there, looking at her like that, saying her name like that... The expression in B'ram's eyes was so reminescent of her friend's when he would look at her sometimes...it was almost unnerving. But it felt...right. And that alone shocked her--knowing that a part of her wished it _was_ U'kaiah in her room tonight, not B'ram. Traelyn reached for the brownrider and pulled him down to her, burying her emotions in a soft, caressing kiss deep enough to drown in.
