Y'sani leaned against the doorframe of Karaleigh's door and smiled smugly at her when she opened it. "Hiding from the weyrlings already, I see?"
"I know someone who works with the weyrlings so I got a head start," she grinned. "Get in here." Reaching out, she grabbed his tunic and pulled him into her weyr.
Laughing, Y'sani closed her door behind him. "Anxious to see me, are you? Or are you just worried that one of the weyrlings might spot you and try to sweet-talk his way into your weyr?"
"Maybe I'm just bored," she shrugged with a coy smile.
"Maybe I'll have to fix that." Y'sani leaned back against the door, smiling as he took a few moments to admire her. She was exactly the type of woman he'd always had a weakness for... tall, dark haired and with that slight hint of mystery that came with quiet intelligence. That she understood his devotion to teaching was an added bonus--many a woman had thrown up their hands in frustration after a few sevendays of being abandoned for the latest weyrling crisis. Karaleigh's feminine pride liked the fact that the Weyrlingmaster would take the time to admire her. He wasn't like most of the bronzeriders, and brown and blue for that matter, that she had run into. They had mostly just had one ambition in mind - get into her pants. But this bronzerider was actually taking the time to romance her, to break down her walls. It had been so long since someone had bothered to take the time that she had started to forget how good it felt to be admired, to be spoiled. He had been so patient with her she was starting to loose patience. She had decided a while ago - this bronzerider was worth it.
After a few more moments of comfortable silence, Y'sani pushed away from the door and slid an arm around Karaleigh's waist. "Well, what do you want to do with the evening? We could go and watch the weyrlings trip over each other trying to find willing partners... with me protecting you from becoming one of them, of course."
"I think I'd rather stay in, if its all the same," she replied, her nose wrinkling, but her eyes dancing.
"Even better." Tightening his arm, he spun her around once, laughing.
"Shards, I love spending time with you, Karaleigh. And I love knowing that for this _entire_ evening, the senior weyrlings are going to be too busy trying to find someone to take home with them to do anything stupid."
"Hmmm. The whole evening?" she asked with a knowing smile. "Perhaps we should see if we can't get dinner delivered tonight..."
Y'sani's grin turned smug again as he led her in the direction of her table. "I might have already done something about that. I have a friend in the kitchens."
"So you keep telling me." Karaleigh looked at him with mock suspicion. "Should I envy this 'friend' of yours?"
"Personally I'd envy her husband," Y'sani replied, his voice an amused drawl. "You've seen what a fine cook she is."
"Well, I'd rather have the cooking without the wife, if its all the same to you," she grinned. The harper certainly couldn't complain about the cooking though...
Y'sani let his fingers caress slowly down Karaliegh's neck, enjoying the soft feeling of her skin. Shards, he wanted to stay here with her tonight. "How about a nice Weyrlingmaster who knows where to find the cooking?"
Right now she was thinking she'd take the Weyrlingmaster anyway he'd come. "That would work."
"It would, would it?" His fingers slid down her back as he leaned down to let his lips take their place on the side of her neck. "So what part of it do you like more?" he asked softly against her ear. "The dinner, or the Weyrlingmaster? Or do I want to know?"
"Hmmm," she tried to make it sound more like an uncertain sound, but it came out more as a moan. "Ummm... guess..."
A knock at the door made Y'sani bite back a groan. He took a step back and cleared his throat roughly. "Dinner's here, so I hope it's that..."
Or rather, he hoped that it _wasn't_ and that she wouldn't mind eating a cold dinner... "I guess so," she said with a forced careless shrug. **Shards, shards _SHARDS_!** What terrible timing the kitchen staff have!
Y'sani glanced at the stiff set of Karaleigh's shoulders and the unenthusiastic look on her face. He cleared his throat again, raising his voice to be easily heard on the other side of the door. "Just leave it there. We'll get around to it later." And then he closed the distance between them with one long step, plunging his hands into Karaleigh's hair and giving her a long, lazy kiss. Being a gentleman was one thing, but there was no point in torturing _both_ of them when she was obviously more than ready. Besides, too much more waiting and she was going to start to wonder if he knew what he was doing. And he couldn't have that.
Oh thank _Faranth_! Karaleigh melted into him, reached up to bury her fingers in the fabric of his tunic. A Turn was way too long, and he seemed way too happy to take his sweet time. Even now the slow deep kiss was almost torture, but it was easier to bear now knowing that finally, tonight, their waiting would be over. Still she wasn't above hurrying him along as a bit as she tugged him back towards the bedroom while she still had legs steady enough to move.
Y'sani chuckled as he pulled back, moving one arm to wrap around her waist and hold her still. "Don't be so impatient," he whispered, his voice smug. His arm tightened until she was tight against him. "And I hope you don't mind eating a cold dinner, because this is going to take a little while..." And with his arrogant bronzerider ego firmly intact, Y'sani went back to kissing her.
