Graduated now, Dysali was getting nervous. She didn't feel ready, and Dyaera had said her green didn't rise for turns, but what if Lillyth did Rise before she was.. ready?

Determined to fix this, and having been giving a great deal of thought to who, what, and how, the young greenrider went looking for her bronzerider friend, I'lan. He was so kind to her, and besides, another greenrider she had asked for advice had let slip he might be a good choice. They seemed to enjoy each other's company well enough, but how did you ask a boy to.. well? How?

Nervous and scared, she asked Lillyth if she could find Naath and his rider, hopefully somewhere by themselves!

I'lan was in his weyr, working on his riding straps. The skill hadn't come naturally to him, but with practice he was getting better. These were intended as a slightly fancier set. Perhaps he would use them with a passenger, or to go to gathers with.

Lost in his work, he almost didn't notice the bronze passing the message to him.

**What was that?** he asked of Naath. **Tell me again.**

}:Lillyth's wants to see you, is that okay?:{

**Lillyth?** he thought? Then it fell into place, **Tell her I'm up
here.**

}: Naath says his rider is in his Weyr, very distracted.:{

Oh no! Distracted? Maybe now was a bad time. Maybe it would go quicker
this way too? Deciding she was going to miss her chance if she didn't take it now, she asked Lillyth for a lift to their Weyr, so her green could visit with Naath while she talked to I'lan.

A short while later, she dismounted and made her way inside, calling politely. "I'lan? I hope now isn't a bad time..."

"No, not at all," he gifted her with a smile.

Her cheeks started to go red as soon as she laid eyes on him, as she struggled for the words, though she returned the smile gladly. At lest he looked happy to see her! "Thank you for talking to me I'lan. I've really enjoyed getting to know you over the past few sevendays. You and Bubbly too." She added for the canines benefit. "I have a problem that I need your help with, or at least I hope you'll help me with it."

"A problem?" he said curiously. Looking at her expression, he realised that it was serious, or serious as far as she was concerned. "Do you want to talk about it?"

She shook her auburn curls, her cheeks fairly burning. "I don't really want to talk about it. I've talked it to death in my own mind, and with a few others that I trust. I've finally decided." She said with finality, then paused, looking at him for a moment. What was he going to say? But
Dyaera had said just find a boy and ask.. Well, here was the boy. Now
to the asking.

"What I really need is a favor. I like your company and you're so nice.. and well, Lillyth is going to Rise soon and I umm.." Oh the fire in her cheeks would have done any dragon proud! "..I umm.. I've never even been
kissed!" She finished in a rush. Then a softer plea, a near whisper.
"Will you help me?"

Why oh why were tears threatening her eyes? And was that the sound of her heart breaking? D'ren's face swam in front of her mind's eye, but she raised her chin determinedly, at least she would meet I'lan's gaze. This was the right thing to do, for her, and for Lillyth.

I'lan didn't know what to say. Despite his conversation with Xuxha on the subject of lovers, there was something of his hold bred upbringing that made him hold back a little at times from the ways of the Weyr. "I'm, I'm flattered, but..." he stuttered after a moment. "Are you sure?"

Oh no! He didn't want to help her. Tears did begin to spill, but she swallowed them with some vestige of pride. "I am sure. I _have_ to. Everyone says so, all my teachers.. But if you don't want to, I understand." She paused, her eyes clearing. "If not you, do you know someone who .. who would be gentle with me?" Anyone but that awful J'darin, though Dyaera spoke highly of him as a teacher.

"Dysali," he began, rising to his feet. "I am, honoured, yes honoured that you thought of me, but I just wanted to make sure that you really wanted to do this. A woman can choose here, and I wouldn't want you too feel that you were pressured into something you weren't ready for."

She nodded to him, looking a little frightened, or sad, but certainly determined. "I've spent days and days deciding what to do, I'lan. And I just don't want to take the risk with Lillyth. She may not Rise for
months... but then again, she might, and I have no way of knowing. As
young as she is, and me.. well.. I'm scared of what would happen if I was too frightened to control her. I'm doing it for her, but I did get to choose who, for the most part. " She would have chosen D'ren, if she
could, but she _did_ like I'lan. "I know we haven't been friends long,
or if you even want to do this with.. me.. " She coughed again. "But I wanted to ask you anyway."

Taking a step closer to her, he tentatively reached out to her. "Then can I kiss you?"

Surprised, Dysali's eys flew wide and she smiled at him, meeting him halfway. "Please. I hope you don't mind if I don't really know how..."

Gently he bent his head to hers, allowing their lips to meet oh so softly. He kept it as gentle as he could, feeling her begin to respond.

Amazing, wonderful feelings washed over the young woman. Her first kiss! Almost without thinking, she responded, her lips full enough to make them very kissable. Her hand rested lightly around his back as he held her face, causing a very curious warm feeling rising up to make her cheeks flush, though much differently than when she was embarassed. Their kiss deepened without her even realizing it as she began to enjoy the rainbow of feelings that were cascading through her mind, and her body.

When the kiss broke, I'lan looked at her, "Tell me if this is too fast for you."

Dysali smiled, very much enjoying her first kiss, despite it not being D'ren staring back at her. It would be a first kiss with him, too. "I can't tell you, I'lan. I very much enjoyed it, though.. " Now the blush crept back. "I am thinking it was just about the perfect speed."

He took her into his arms properly, holding her close, but enough that if she gave him any sign of wanting him to stop, or to slow down, she could just step away, no hesitation. Bringing his lips to hers again, he kissed her once more, feeling the unmistakable signs of his own interest in the greenrider beginning to develop.

She gave him no signs, and in fact began to copy his movements. Her arms wrapped around him, meeting the kiss with one of her own. Her lips parted naturally, and she began to forget everything but the way he felt holding her, and the wonderful things that were happening to her. A tentative hand ran across the muscles of his back and she found herself pressed against him.

Finding himself enjoying the experience, there was only one thing left to do. He led her gently towards the bed, holding her hand as he did so.

She was suddenly nervous again, but went willingly along. She look at him as he led her to the bed, thankful that he was so willing to help her, and so gently. As they lay down together, she said quietly, "Thank you, I'lan." And kissed him on her own, one hand cupping his cheek gently.

I'lan found himself reaching for the fastenings of her clothing, and then that of his own loose shirt. There was suddenly a need to get close to Dysali, and clothing was a bar to that.

She helped him with the fastenings, a little unsure of her fingers. But she leaned into him and even dared a kiss or two as bare skin was exposed. It almost seemed like her body just knew what was natural. Her smile was sweet, and vulnerable, as she looked up at him, now with nothing between them but skin.

"Ready for this?" asked I'lan, voice hoarse with supressed passion.

Her voice was soft, husky, and she said quietly, "Yes, I am.." And so she was.
