Characters: Az'uka, Arilanna
Description: Az'uka's hip is still causing him trouble so he goes to see Arilanna
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 13, day 14 of Turn 3

Az'uka woke and debated heading downstairs to the bathing chamber, it was till early yet, but already his hip was aching like nothing else.
**shards it was _just_ a pulled muscle.** He'd done it in while racing recently, but then again a pulled muscle only took maybe a day or two to fully walk out, with minimum stress and only a dull ache, this was different. It was more of a constant ache and a sharp pain every time he rolled onto it. He glanced over at where Nilzulth had half wedged his head in the opening between human quarters and dragon quarters.

}: You are in pain :{
**Just a pulled muscle** He told the dragon however he was growing more doubtful of that self diagnostic; perhaps he should go and see one of the healers, even if it did turn out to be just a pulled muscle, it was better to be safe than sorry.

}: But you are in Pain! :{
**Ok, ok** He bethought the blue dragon, having already decided to seek out a healer. He made his way down to the lower caverns, trying to disguise the faint limp that had appeared in his stride, in order to compensate for the pain.

"Well drop your pants and let me have a look." Arilanna said tiredly after she closed the door to the exam room. She was working the back half of a double shift, and while she used to be able to handle them just fine, her now well along pregnancy had caused an energy shortage; as well as a temper shortage.

Az'uka raised a singular brow and a flicker of what might have been a smile crossed his face. Never-the-less he followed the instruction, swallowing his male pride on the matter of being ill. He loosened the tie on his pants and had to half lift them over his right hip, being careful not to touch it too much. The bruising had only just started coming up yesterday but was already a mix of deep purple, black and a shade blue that rivalled the hide of his dragon.

"Now that's a nasty bruise you've got there." her manner might be brisk, but her touch was as delicate as ever as she gently probed his hip with her fingertips. "You said you got this while running? Did you fall or something, cause this isn't a muscle pull."

A guilty smile slid over his features, **Ok so it wasn't a pulled muscle**. He gave a small nod. "Yeah I was stupid enough to misjudge a turn and landed pretty heavily on it" **It would seem I bruised more than my pride then**

}: She will help :{ His dragon told him in the same all knowing tone that he often used with Az'uka.

It _looked_ like a deep bruise, but she wanted to make sure before diagnosing it as just that. She gave it one more good inspection before saying, "Okay, you can put your pants back on now."

**Well _that_ was a relief** He thought as he reached down and hiked up his pants again and refastened them. Once they where secure he turned to face her, his blue eyes seemingly fastened to the healer's face. He was definitely beginning to think that he'd made and idiot out of himself with this hip. The phrase **so how _stupid_ am I? ** came to mind all too easily for the bluerider's liking.

"Can you move your leg around in a circle?" She watched as he did so then added, "Now walk to the end of the room and back, don't try to tough it out, just walk like you would in your own weyr."

He'd been half leaning on the wall when she asked if he could cross the room for her. "Sure" Giving a nod to acknowledge the healer's instruction, he pushed off from the wall and did exactly as she asked. When he first started he tried to walk without difficultly and the limp, but swallowing his pride for the second time in a candlemark he decided it wasn't worth it. The limp was faint and well hidden, or so Az'uka thought, but it was enough to offset most of the pain. **So** He thought **What is it; _other_ than painful?**

"Alright," Arilanna said as she started rummaging around one of the cabinets. "I'm pretty certain it's just a really deep bruise. I want you to rub this salve in every four to six hours until it's gone." She handed over the jar she had found in the cabinet adding, "It's mostly just numbweed, but it will also help with the swelling. And if it's not better by the time the salve is gone; then come back, okay?"

He nodded and gentle took the jar from her. "Thanks..." He paused a smile coming across his face. "I'm guessing you wind up with idiot dragonriders a lot." He was referring more to the situation, because any dragonrider that got hit by threadscore was not to be called an idiot. "A deep bruise; I guess that will teach me from running with out practising for a few days..."

"Well I hope it teaches you to keep your feet under you!" She teased lightly, "Don't let it bother you though, falls happen to everyone."

Az'uka gave a smile at the tease. "True, they kind of come in use" He remarked in regards to keeping his feet on the ground, except when he was needed in the air of course. He looked back at her "Thankyou"

"Anytime!"
