"Gramth, that's enough for today! I've washed you twice." F'lain tossed the brush in sand. "Do you want to be oiled or not?" his tone was stren but loving.
Aidiata was walking past the weyr lake with a armload of sleeping furs. She was taking them to the candidate barracks. just as she got close too close to the water she tripped and several fell into the water. She cursed as she tried to retrieve them. now what was she going to do?
}: Help her frist, then I will come out of the water.:{ Gramth informed him. F'lian was amazed. She never paid attention to anyone with out a dragon. He turned to see a girl looking frustrated and about to cry. "Could I help you with that? I'm already soaked."
"I... okay. Thank you." She said shyly.
F'lian waded over, gathering some of the furs, Gramth draged another one over with her forarms. }: Now she won't cry.:{ the green said simply. F'lain just stared at his lifemate. "Oh, here you are." he began ringing them out for the girl.
Aidiata gave a smile. "I feel like such a clutz. I don't usualy drop furs in water." She was shy and didn't know what else to say.
"It's all right. It happenes."
"thank you for fishing them out. I was afraid I would have to strip to wade in to get them. " She blushed a bit.
F'lain shurgged. "Weyrlings like pulling stuff out of the water. It's a game to them." He wasn't bothered in the least by the notiion. If she was, she'd better get used to it and soon.
Aidiata was still getting used to being at the weyr. She smiled her thanks as she tried to fold each of the furs so as to carry them. It wasn't easy.
Being wet they were quite heavy. She was slight in build so it was made even harder. She sighed in fustration.
F'lain was a little bigger than the girl and gaining mucle by the day. He reached over a pick up several the hides. "I'll trade you, I'll help you take these back to the landury and get new ones, if you help me with the oil feind."
"You want me to help oil your lovely green?" She asked shyly. Her eyes held wonder and hope.
"Please!" he clasped his hands in front of him and dropped to his knees. "Please!" He could see how suprised she was and retreated to his version of humor in reponse.
At first Aidiata was shocked and suprised. Then, she couldn't help but giggle. "Of course I'll help!"
"Wonderful. Gramth will be thrilled to have some to admire her. Other than me of course."
"Then I'd be more than happy to help." She smiled genuinely.
"Why don't we take care of the furs first, that way we won't be covered in oil when we pick up the new ones." he suggested Aidiata nodded and picked up what she could carry. It wasn't much. She was still slight in build and had yet to build up enough muscle. She hoped being at the Weyr would help her in that respect.
Gathring the remained of the furs, F'lain lead the girl to the laundry. He explaned the situation to the slightly amused drudge and was told to fetch clean ones from the next room.
Once they had the clean ones they took them and dropped them off at the barracks. She followed him back to the weyr lake and stood waiting for instructions.
Behind the girl, Gramth started to run toward Aidata intending to knock her into the water. Fortuanly for the candidate she lost her blaence and tumbled in the sand with a squak. F'lain hide his face behind his hand with a sigh.
Aidiata turned at the squawk and stood startled. "Is she okay?" She asked with concern. She moved toward the green intending to comfort her and make sure she was alright.
"She's fine, she thought she'd knock you into the water and lost _her_ balance. She's been talking to the older dragon agian." he explained.
Gramth looked up at the girl, doing her best to look pittiful.
"Oh!" Aidiata giggled. "Well, once you are up we can have a water fight how about that?" She could remember many a water fight when she was back home.
Gramth's eyes whrilled blue. }:She like's to play.:{ "Looks like she is agreeable." She giggled as she noticed the change in the green's eyes. She decided to lead the way.
"Let's just say she likes you and leave it at that." the greenrider laughed.
"Well then, I like you too, Gramth." She said as she sent a playful splash toward the pair.
