Description: The Weyrwoman gets a friendly visitor from another Weyr...
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 12, day 11 of Turn 3
**You _are_ awake, aren't you?** Traelyn asked her queen as she tied off the long, tight plait with a bit of leather.
}:Quite,:{ came Nyith's prim reply as she moved off her stone couch.
}:You should have eaten more this morning.:{ Her mental tone was almost reproachful.
The Weyrwoman grinned, coming out into the main part of her weyr with heavy, wher-hide boots in hand. **Mothering me again, love?**
}:If I don't, who will?:{ "After drills, I'll have a nice, big supper to make up for this morning.
How's that?"
"Sounds lovely. May I join you?" a voice whispered in her ear.
She let out a startled yip, nearly dropping her boots as she whirled around to see who'd snuck up on her so sharding _quietly_... "R'hoos!"
"Yes, it's just me," he grinned down at her. "I'm sorry, it seems that my usually impeccable timing has lost some of its... impeccableness...
I had hoped to catch you _before_ drills and invite you to a bit of breakfast together, but, I see I was way off."
"Completely," she agreed, giving him an amused look. Gesturing for him to follow her, she made her way towards the sofa and sat, beginning to shove one foot into a boot. "But here's something to keep in mind next time you want to drop by without having impeccable timing: I tend to love dinner much more than I do breakfast...."
"Well, we don't necessarily have to _eat_ if that's what you're worried about," he said as he knelt down in front of her and grabbed her boot.
"Here, let me help you."
"Well, isn't that what you usually do during meals? You _eat_?" The tone of her voice, however, told him clearly that she knew exactly what he was hinting at. Shards! She grinned, slowly leaning back to let him help her.
"Most people, yes. But there are other ways of finding satisfaction for your hunger in the morning," the bronzerider grinned as he rested her foot on his knee and began slowly inching her pantleg up.
"Uh huh. Mind describing one such way to me?"
"Well, I _could_, but that might distract you during drills, and that can be dangerous. Let's just say, I think you and I would _both_ find it an extremely appealing way to spend breakfast." He let his fingers slip under the hem of her pant-leg and caressed the skin around the back of her knees with a saucy smile.
Her dark eyes flickered. "If you're so worried about distracting me, then you shouldn't be doing _that_." Shards, but it felt good though... Mmmm.
R'hoos could see the effect he was having and his smile just grew wider as his fingers began tracing lazy patterns along her skin. "Hmmm, well, then I recommend you skip drills today, play sick, and let me give you a full demonstration."
Traelyn gave him a mock-stern glare, moving her leg just a little out of his reach. "Shame on you, R'hoos, for even suggesting that!" She affected an exasperated tone. "You should know better."
"Oh, but I do." He grabbed her leg and pulled it back, slipping the boot over her foot. "Trust me, if I wanted to, I have much more _persuasive_
methods."
"Yes, well... Perhaps you should try them out on a _restday_, hmm?"
"Well, next time I don't have waterball on a restday, I'll certainly think about it," he nodded as he moved on to her other foot. "Of course, how do I know that _you_ won't be busy?"
She gave him her sauciest grin. "You don't."
"Then just why should I waste a restday?" he asked with a challenging gleam in his eye, his fingers sliding up the hem of her other leg.
"Dragons can hop /between/ in a matter of seconds, R'hoos," she replied, chuckling. "I don't think you'd be wasting any real time."
"Yeah, but then there's also the time making myself all pretty for you,"
he said with innocent eyes. "I'm not so sure its worth the trouble. Can you give me a reason why I should take the chance?"
Her smile was slow. Faranth, those eyes of his... "Finish lacing up my boot, and I'll give you a little reason."
His eyes never left hers as he laced them up, a small anticipating smile on his lips. "All right, Lady Traelyn. Your boots are laced."
She patted the cushion beside her.
He eyed her with mock skepticism as he slid onto the sofa next to her.
"Come on, goldrider," he taunted softly, "convince me..."
Oh, she'd convince him alright. Resting a hand on his leg, she moved in, gently pressing slow, teasing kisses to the corners of his mouth, her lips lingering over his, at first not quite touching. Then, as her fingers moved upward, she began to kiss him like she had before down at the beach those months ago, but slowly.
R'hoos covered her hand to still it. If it kept wandering like that he would _never_ let her go to drills. But his other reached around the back of her neck to pull her closer as his lips did a little convincing of their own. Though it was only for a few heartbeats, he knew they had both enough incentive. "All right, Weyrwoman," he finally murmured breathlessly. "I'm convinced."
"Good," she murmured with a small grin as she drew away.
}:Trae, we should head out there now.:{ The queen sounded reluctant to pull her rider away from anything that made her feel happy. }:The Weyrleader's Wing is forming.:{ "Duty calls, bronzerider."
"Then I will see you my next free restday," he said with an equally reluctant sigh. "Should I bring red or white wine?"
"White." She rose from the couch, sparing him a knowing smile as she slipped towards the entrance to her queen's weyr. "It's always been my preference."
"Then expect me, and a bottle of white, one of these restdays," the bronzerider grinned as he watched her walk out the door.
