J'klin approached the Weyrleader's office. Nimyth had told him that Treadoryth and D'wrayt were _very_ unhappy with them. J'klin couldn't really blame D'wrayt though, he _had_ punched a former wingleader, and even though U'kaiah had deserved it... well, J'klin was ready to face whatever punishment D'wrayt thought was fair. It's not like his life could get any worse right now.
D'wrayt sighed mentally when Nimyth informed him that J'klin was on the way. There had been more fights than he had cared for in the last month. He decided that he would talk to the Wingleaders and then talk to the Wings so that they all understood that he wasn't going to tolerate anymore physical fighting amongst them.
The knock at the door jarred the Weyrleader from his thoughts of how to prevent another occurrence. "Enter!" he barked sounding a tad more angry than he really felt at the moment.
That wasn't a good sign... "Reporting as ordered, Weyrleader." J'klin said after he took a few steps inside.
"Have a seat and start explaining."
"I don't know what there is to explain." J'klin said evenly, "I just gave a man what he had coming. I'm not going to try and defend my actions or act remorseful."
"At least tell me what the cause was."
J'klin almost rolled his eyes. He didn't feel like telling him anything, it was none of his business, but U'kaiah was probably going to come whining about it after he got his bruises looked at so...
"U'kaiah decided that it was a good idea to turn my girl against me and get her pregnant... again. All I did was make him understand that it was _not_ a good idea."
"How do you know it was U'kaiah and who is she?" he asked wondering why there always seemed to be a woman involved when his riders started throwing punches at one another.
"Because that's what U'kaiah does, he steals my women from me and gets them pregnant just to play with me. It's like a little hobby of his, 'how can I make J'klin's life miserable today'. I just couldn't take it anymore." J'klin said, his voice showing his fatigue and the alcohol still in his system.
"I seriously doubt that U'kaiah is consciously setting out to make your life miserable. How much have you had to drink tonight?"
J'klin snorted. "Not enough. Look, I don't really want to be here, so how about you just dole out whatever punishment you want and we can be done."
"You can go, I'll let you know once I've decided." D'wrayt replied not really in the mood to argue. He wasn't sure what he wanted to do. He decided that he needed to talk to U'kaiah in the morning and get his side of things.
He didn't need to be told twice and J'klin was out the door before D'wrayt would have a chance to call him back. All J'klin wanted to do right now was go back to his weyr and pass out... yes, that was exactly what he was going to do.
D'wrayt watched J'klin leave and headed to his weyr. He needed something that would help him forget about how the Weyr was falling apart around him and knew exactly who was capable of doing just that.
He smiled at the thought of his favorite healer tucked away in his bed, and quickened his step in anticipation of seeing her.
