"Guess what I'lan! The hall second said I could pick up my training as a harper.!" M'tias literally bounced into his friend's weyr.

"That's great!" The bronzerider looked over at his slightly younger friend.
"Just some of your classes I guess, I mean won't Y'sani need you too?"

"He said that I can train with L'pin as well. Get some practice as an archivist.
That way I'll be helping the wing and working on my knots.

"Still want to be a master someday?" teased I'lan. His own apprenticeship was well in abeyance. There was no time for a bronzerider to bake.

"Maybe not a master, but journeyman at least." he shrugged.

"You'll get those knots, I bet you will."

"What about you? Miss baking?"

"I do, but I think it'll have to stay a hobby now. Naath has big ambitions." The bronze might be tiny compared to some his colour but he wanted to prove himself in any way he could.

"Does he? Wants to lead a wing?"

}:I can do that,:{ stated Naath.

**I know you can,** replied his rider.

"He does, even a weyr someday."

"The question isn;t whether he can, it's if you want the head ache."
M'tias grinned.

"Sometimes you have no choice in the matter, I mean he's already trying to chase golds."

"Ambitious isn't he."

"Very," replied the bronzerider with a grin.

"I wonder if Woenth will want to chase golds, Z'al's brown won the last gold flight. Mabye he could too."

"I bet he'll try. It isn't going to be too long before he shows an interest in what's happening. You know that, don't you?"

"Yeah, The weyrlingmaster warned me about that."

"Have you spoken to him about it?"

"recently? No. I didn't see any reason to waste his time. It'll happen eventualy."

"Better tell him soon,. he might surprise you."

M'tias nodded. He didn't think Woeth would chase soon, but he's been told that the fris chase was often spur of the moment. One day he wouldn't care, the next he'd be challanging older, more experciance males.

"Anyway, fancy getting some dinner?"

"As long as there is bubblies for desert." M'tias laughed.

"Now that can be organised," replied Ilan. "Even if I have to go bake them myself."

"Now that might be intresting."

"I may be out of practise, but I can strill make a very tasty bubbly pie, and my canine knows it."

The mention on the canie made M'tias smiled. "He staying out of trouble?"

"Yes, just not staying out of fatherhood though."

"Wonderful, what are you going to do with the pups?"

"I found homes for all but one of them."

M'tias sighed, he'd always wanted a pup, but he knew he didn't the time. HIs eyes lit up. HIs mother did. "I'lan do you think I could bring my mother by to meet the pup you have left? I think something to take care of and keep my sibs amused would be good."

"Sure," replied the bronzerider. "It's a girl, she hasn't got a name yet though."

"I'll bring her by on rest day. Won't tell my sibs though. In case mother decideds agianst takeing her."

"Good."

"Thanks I'lan!" M'tias grinned at his friend.

"No problem."
