Ranni

"Ranni! Ranni! Are you in there?" Aviday thrust her head into the
weyr, eyes searching. "I got to talk to you. Are you busy? It's super
important!"

"I am going to kill her," R'nar growled into Ranni's ear.

Ranni giggled, slapping his shoulder as she wiggled out from
underneath him. "Just a second!" The greenrider jerked her clothes on
while R'nar's head poked out from the blanket glaring at her.

When Ranni appeared before Aviday, her rumpled clothes and disheveled
hair belied her activities. "Avi!"

"OH! Sorry, Ranni!" Aviday noticed the disarray and easily guessed
what it meant. "You could have just told me to go away." She then
grinned widely, obviously pleased and excited. "Ranni...I did it. I
really did it. It was _awesome_!"

"Don't worry, it's R'nar who needs the apology." Ranni waggled her eyebrows.

"I heard that!" The bronzerider's voice called from the bedroom.

Ranni laughed and pulled Aviday over to sit down. "You did what?"

"Sorry R'nar!" Aviday called back, "But you get that all the time! I
just started!" She turned back to Ranni and bounced on the couch. "I
did _it_ with L'cor." She flung herself back on the couch, arms over
her head. "Omigosh, it was amazing. Like really really amazing..." A
goofy smile played over her mouth at the memory.

"L'cor!" Ranni exclaimed in excitement.

"L'cor," R'nar's voice mimicked in the background.

"How did that happen? I mean, I didn't think you knew each other! And
I thought you didn't want to?" Ranni tucked her legs and settled in
for a good story.

"Quiet! It's girl time now! You can do sweaty, happy fun time later!"
Aviday called out and then sat up, wiggling her bottom as she
gleefullly explained. "I wasn't going to, but I was in the baths with
him after a drill and I hurt my shoulder. He gave me this awesome
massage and he was in Kobeth's flight and I guess he figured out what
happened and offered to help. I wasn't going to at first, but then I
talked to my Papa and he talked to L'cor and..." She grinned widely.
"And oh yeah...it happened."

Ranni was happy for her friend, to see the sparkle back in her eyes
was reassuring. "Well? Details. What's he look like under those riding
leathers?"

Aviday was happy to oblige. "Well, he's slender, but he's got muscle
just like any rider. And his skin is so _warm_ and smooth, except
his hands. His hand are kind of callused, but..." she gave a little
shiver, "they feel good. They're strong, but he was really gentle. I
thought for sure that he was you know, gonna deflate," she held up a
finger and curled in limply to demonstrate, "when he saw me naked,
but he didn't. It stayed right up there, so I guess my body doesn't
look so bad afterall."

Ranni laughed again. "Of course he didn't 'deflate'!" She shook her
head. "Not all men are attracted to big boobs and butts, you know." To
which Ranni thought **Thank Faranth** since she was gifted in either
of those areas either.

"Well, that's all they seem to stare at! But, " she looked down at
her chest and pulled her shirt a little tighter. "He seemed to like
me well enough. But he says I'm kinda small..."she pointed down,
"down there. And that's probably why it hurt so bad the first time,
but then he said it was really good, so the next guy is just going to
gave to be careful. "

"Well, at least you know now and can be better prepared for next
time." Ranni winced.

"Oh, there's gonna be a next time," Aviday declared with a grin, then
raised her hands. "But _not_ like mama. She doesn't care who it is.
But I'm going to practice with a nice guy."

"I would like to practice with my weyrmate!" R'nar called from the bedroom.

Ranni made a face and shook her head. "Don't mind him, he's all hot
and bothered."

"You already get plenty of practice!" Aviday called back with a wry
grin. "Shells, Ranni, he acts like you haven't done anything with him
in a turn, or something. Anyways, " Aviday lowered her voice, "I
talked to R'fal and he's not so bad. He feels really bad about what
happened. He's actually kind of shy and sweet. "

The other greenrider's eyebrows shot up. "R'fal? But... I didn't think
you would want to be with him again after... Well, after how bad it
was the first time."

"I didn't either, Ranni, but he's really not so bad. And he feels just
awful about what happened. It really wasn't his fault. Besides, I'm
just going to get to know him right now. I mean, his Marlath might
catch Kobeth again next time, so maybe it's better to be friendly in
case that happens."

"I suppose," Ranni said grudgingly. She still felt like R'fal was a
fool for entering into flights so recklessly to begin with - and she
found it hard to forgive when one of her friends had been hurt.

"It'll be fine." She reached to hug her friend. "You know you're
awesome right? You're my best friend."

Ranni wrapped her arms around Aviday. She wasn't normally the hugging
type, but Avi was an exception. "And you're mine."

"She's your only friend." R'nar called out.

"I'm going to knee him right in his family jewels when I get back in
there," Ranni growled conspiratorially into Aviday's ear.

"He deserves it." Aviday snickered. "Just don't forget to kiss it and
make it better after you're done." She pulled away, winked, then
waggled her brows.
