"Have you heard the news?" Malarken remarked as he entered the larger
workroom. "The crafters have started arriving down over at the old gem
mine for the new Weyr project."

Sinas looked up from the specialized tiles he had been diligently
working on for the interior design he had planned. Wiping his hands on
a cloth, he looked up at his friend.

"I heard they had plans for the old mine. I just had no idea when they
would begin work. I wonder what their plans are and if they need any
of our clay work?" Sinas asked aloud.

"Why don't you go find out for us?" Malarken remarked. He was older
and had helped to teach Sinas much of his skills, but honestly, he
didn't want to venture down to the project and ask questions. "Maybe
some of the other younger men would like to help on the project?" He
waved his arm around the room to the handful of people who were now
watching and listening to the discussion.

"Would you, Sinas? We trust your judgement. You can find out and let
us know how we could help?" Various men gathering in the room
remarked, eager to have something more to do than repair the few tiles
around the Hold or create projects simply to pass the time. The Hold
had been struggling. The Weyr would bring new people and perhaps new
business.

"Alright, I'll head down their this afternoon. Perhaps they can make
use of our skills and our special talents too," Sinas added, pointing
towards some of the more intricate, fancier clay designs and pots that
littered the workspace. He was curious himself about the project.

"It would be good for all of us," Malarken added with a pat on the
back to Sinas. "Come back and give us a report with what you find
out."
