Y'gel

Y'gel

"Dad?" She called as she entered the Dragonhealers infirmary, toting
her exciting and wiggly toddler on her hip.

"Lira," a little boy voice called as the three turn old toddler
scampered out of his father's office followed closely by said father.

"Come back here," Y'gel growled. The boy was running away without any
trousers "Brigel!"

Gelira snickered, then bending down she scooped her younger
half-brother onto her other hip. Gelzan immediately began reaching for
the other boy. "Bee, bee." he called, grabbing his hand. Finding them
to be rather heavy, Gelira knelt down and placed both boys on the
ground together.

"Hi, dad, I see you are working late again!"

"Little Wherry likes to run around naked," he chuckled. "Hi
sweetheart," he smiled. The older she got the more she looked like her
mother. "It's good to see you."

"Yeah, Gelzan does too. If he can have clothes off, he sure will." She"
smiled as the two boys used a combination of words, sounds and baby
talk to communicate with each other.

"Sorry we missed the last family dinner time," Gelira looked towards
her dad, "I've had so many extra sweeps with the extra territory, that
I honestly just fell asleep and totally missed it." She had made it a
point to schedule a family dinner at least once every other sevenday,
more often if they all could coordinate schedules.

"Oh don't worry," he smiled and put an arm around her shoulders to
give her a fatherly squeeze. "There is a lot of fatigue with the extra
work," he said. "But I think they're talking about some solutions and
hopefully something will be announced soon. Good sized clutches these
days," he nodded.

"Yes, we all have heard chatter and we figure they will have to have
another Weyr at some point. I'm thinking I may transfer there if they
open a new Weyr." Gelria replied.

"That could be exciting," he smiled. "I think I'd rather stay here in
my comfortable weyr with my lovely weyrmate." He dimpled at his
daughter. "It's good here at Dolphin Cove."

"I'm glad you like it here now. I had always thought I'd go back to
River Bluff after my training. In my mind it's like Dragonsfall was
never really my home. Just a place I was staying until I could come
home again. But River Bluff is gone, and now I'm not sure what would
be the best move for Gelzan and I. What do you think?" She couldn't
resist asking for a little fatherly advice.

"Your age right now is the time for adventure," he nodded. "If they
find a good location it's always a good idea to be a founder." Then he
heard the unmistakable call. "Dinner," he grinned. "Come on boys,"
he scooped them up one under each arm like bags of tubers. their
giggles preceded them as they walked out of the Infirmary toward his
nearby weyr.

Gelira chuckled and followed behind. Memories of her own time under
her dad's arm so many Turns ago flashing through her mind. She was so
thankful that she and Gelzan got to spend this special family time
with them all. Life was good.
