K'ran

Saidrene stood in the middle of her weyr, torn with indecision, a rare
problem for the greenrider. She typically knew her own mind and made
decisions with ease, but this decision... it could get her into
trouble. **As if sleeping with Ja'ckt couldn't?** she snorted at the
thought.

This was different. Yes, there was desire behind what she wanted, but
also this time there was a little bit of her heart tangled into the
mix. If she was rejected it would make things awkward, especially
since she spent more time around her Wing than anyone else. If she was
rejected it would hurt, and ever since J'ackt had chosen Alina over
her, she'd been very careful not to get hurt again.

**Just do it.** her mind whispered, sending a tingle through her body.
She looked down at the simple black breeches and blouse that she wore,
she knew the colors accented her dark hair and vibrant hazel eyes.

"Here goes," she whispered to her empty weyr before stalking out the
door. She was afraid if she slowed down at all she would lose her
nerve. Her quick steps took her down to the larger weyrs, reserved for
leaders that needed offices attached to their living quarters.

She stopped in front of one and wrapped boldly on the door. When the
portal open there was on a breath of hesitation before she launched
herself at the bronzerider on the other side.

K'ran was sitting in his weyr looking over a book of maps. He hadn't
been expecting any visitors in the evening, no friends intended to
stop by. So when a knock came, he expected it was one of his
wingriders with a problem. He asked Rogueth if he'd heard any
grumbling but his bronze didn't know.

When he answered the door to see Saidrene, who had never been one of
the problems since she transferred into the wing, he was surprised. He
opened his mouth to greet her - and suddenly she was flying at him.
His arms instinctively reached out to catch her - for the second time
that day, given the earlier drill - and he just was trying to steady
her, thinking perhaps she'd tripped, or something. Then her lips
pressed against his, soft and warm and before he could register quite
what was happening he found himself kissing her back.

His return kiss was all she needed as she closed the door with the
back of her heel, her arms looped around his neck. There was something
so satisfying and experienced about his touch. "Wingleader," she
growled a little greeting in his ear as her lips moved to his neck.

It had been over a Turn since K'ran had gone to bed with a woman
outside of flights and the instinctive responses that those roused.
His body knew what to do, still, with someone supple in his arms, and
it began to make an interest very clear to him. Especially when she
said his title like that. It reminded him of hearing it earlier, in
the drill, and how they'd trusted in the other to catch them and get
it right.

"Saidrene," he got out before her lips closed around his throat and he
tilted his head back and groaned.

"I've been thinking about you ever since drills," she admitted in a
breathy tone as her fingers tore at the buttons of his shirt. There
was something intoxicatingly dangerous about having trusted him to
catch her in the fall, but then having to catch him in return. It was
startling to realize that she didn't know very many people, maybe less
than a handful, that she would trust so implicitly. When had that
trust developed? Over the months since he'd been her Wingleader? When
Rogueth caught Ashareth?

He remembered the pulse-pounding adrenaline of watching her fall and
then pulling her close against him to cradle her safely.
Intellectually he'd known there was no danger, but the sight of any
rider free-falling was enough to send fear and shock through one. And
falling himself, being caught up in her arms, there'd been a charge
there. "Is that so?" he asked, turning his head slightly to kiss her
cheek and down her jawline.

"Yes," she arched her neck, exposing her throat to his traveling
kisses as she finally opened the front of his shirt. "I thought maybe
we could practice that catching part again."

He slipped one hand down her back to rest it at the small of her back
and kept kissing at her throat. "You liked free-falling?"

"With you," she amended, hooking a slim leg around his waist and
letting him support her.

"Well, we were certainly satisfied to catch you. Having you in my arms
reminded me of the other catch..." And he felt himself growing stiffer
remembering Saidrene's flight and the noises she'd made against him,
and that blurring with how he was feeling earlier with her in his arms
clinging to him, and she was in his arms now...his lips found her
pulse point in her throat and he switched from kissing to sharp nips.

"Yes," Saidrene encouraged, hand sliding between their bodies, down
his chest, along the work trimmed abdomen to the top of his pants. Her
left hand made easy work of unbuckling his belt.

He shuddered as her hand skimmed down between them and worked on his
belt. The hand against her lower back slipped down further to cup at
her rear and help support her against him as he turned so he was
pressing her up against the wall. The other hand slipped up her tunic
to stroke at her breastband, and he kissed her again, his tongue
parting her lips to slide into her mouth possessively.

Who would have known that such passion was lying bridled beneath the
quiet bronzerider's calm veneer? Saidrene felt as if he handled her body
as though she were an instrument and he a Master Harper. Her back
arched, pressing her breasts forward to his hand, and now that the wall
was behind her she hooked her other leg around his waist, feeling his
need pressed more intimately against her.....

*fade to black*

Afterwards, he was grateful for the wall's assistance in bracing them.

"Saidrene," he breathed out when his mind was clear and he could form
words again.

"Mmmm," she panted, arms still looped around his neck to keep herself
upright, muscles burning from the exercise.

He brushed his cheek against her cheek, a soft nuzzle. "Let's move
from the wall," he suggested gently. The couch was nearby, or the bed.
Anywhere so they didn't have to stand.

Saidrene was content to go anywhere with K'ran in that moment, especially to a warm soft bed.
