Saidrene

Sated and warm, J'ackt slid his hand along Saidrene's waist, enjoying
the softness of her skin. He had thought she'd never allow this type
of closeness to happen again. Propping his head up on an elbow, his
eyes followed his fingers as they traced a familiar path. He knew her
body well, knew all of the sensitive spots and how she liked to be
touched. It was a familiarity that he liked. "Hmm.."

Saidrene tilted her head, long black hair trailing across her bare
back as she folded her arms beneath her face, "Feeling better?"

"Much, much better." It was almost a purr. He had needed it and needed
the closeness. J'ackt tapped her chin. "You?"

She'd been with other men, but J'ackt knew her body best, he'd been
her first, after all. "Yes, I believe that was even better than I
remembered, and I remembered it pretty well."

"I'd hope so." He grinned and settled his hand on her back. "You're
not worried now about the whole cousin thing, are you?" He studied her
face. "Cause honestly, I don't get it."

She hated the word- cousin. It had taken a good thing between her and
J'ackt and made it taboo. "I'm not worried about it, necessarily, it's
just... Complicated things."

J'ackt gave a very derisive snort. "Only if you care about what they
think. And I don't." He went back to stroking her back and the top of
her hips. "Besides.." He bent to brush his mouth over hers, once, then
again before leaning back, "don't hurt nobody, now does it?"

"As long as nobody finds out," she amended, then pushed herself up and
leaned over to return his kiss, "but I'm not telling."

"It's no one's fecking business." He was quick to reply, even as he
kissed her back, briefly. "What could they do if they did? Spank us?"
He looked at her bottom and patted it, then lightly pinched. "We're
adults, Saidrene. We can go at it like green flits, if we like." He
tilted his head. "But if you want to just keep it between us, that's
fine too." He leaned closer. "But I'm still going to bed you when you
let me."

They could, but there was always consequences, Saidrene knew. But
talking to J'ackt about consequences was like talking to a stone wall,
since he never cared about them. "When have I ever told you no?" He
had been her weakness from the moment they met.

"Good point." He grinned and then tugged her against him. nestling her
against his chest and shoulder. He kissed her brow lightly. "You
could, you know. I wouldn't press you if you didn't want it."

"I know," she assured him, "and I would say no if I didn't want to."
While J'ackt had been trying to court Alina, Saidrene had become much
more independent and discovered more of who she wanted to be as an
adult.

J'ackt let his fingers play through her hair. It was silky and soft
against callused fingertips. "You going to stay the night?"

"If you want me to, although," there was a mischievous glint back in
her eyes, "I haven't a thing to sleep in."

"Ha!" He gave a brief laugh. "Oh no, woman. You can sleep just as you
are." He looked down at them both. "Easy access."

Saidrene turned in his arms and draped her leg over his hip, "I like
the sound of that."

That brought a chuckle. "Shameless." J'ackt grinned and stroked her
thigh. "Absolutely shameless and I love it." He studied her face. "Who
knew that choking on redfruit would result in this, hm?"

"I'm still embarrassed about that," she grinned.

"I'm still surprised I remembered what Vandor told me." He chuckled at
the memory. He had still be on edge about being in the weyr at the
time. "The last thing I needed was to be found with a dead body." He
poked her nose. "You choking nearly scared me to my own death."

"Thank you for saving my life, in case I never said it." They'd both
changed a lot since then.

"You did later." He remembered. "I caused it by surprising you. It was
the least I could do."

"Well, it's not every day a girl walks through her weyr to find the
best looking guy she's ever seen standing there," she remembered how
taken aback she'd been.

He snorted. He didn't see what she saw, but if she wanted to think of
him that way, he wasn't going to stop her. "I'm not upset how it
turned out." He gave her a quick hug, and settled down beside her.

Saidrene laid her head on his shoulder, thinking he smelled exactly as
she remembered. It was comforting and smelled a little like home.
