"Has Naath caught a green yet?" M'tias had gone looking for his friend, his conversation with Figol leading to questions of his own.

"Not yet," he answered, an eyebrow raised at his younger friend's question.
"He's come close, very close, even tried to chase a couple of golds."

"I've been told that it's intense, is it really?"

"Well, yeah..." I'lan looked over at his friend. "Is Woneth wanting to chase?"

"Not yet, Y'sani said it's because I'm too young for him to chase. I asked because a friend of mine was kinda of upset at the idea of another friend's dragon rising to mate." he knew it sounded confusing.

"And does this other friend ride a dragon as well?" asked I'lan.

"No he;s a crafter." M'tias knew I'lan know who he was talking about but Figol would be ferious if he used the harpers name.

That made sense thought I'lan. From that comment, the brownrider had to be talking about Aletta and Figol. "Greens rise, they always have."

"I know that, but how do I get him to understand?"

"I don't know, maybe it's just something he'll eventually come to terms with, if he stays at the weyr, or close enough to it anyway."

M'tias shrugged. "When he's decided to chase, will it be a spur of the moment thing or will I know before?

"Sometimes I know, other times..." I'lan shrugged.

"He just decideds? How long do flights last??"

"Green flights are shorter than gold ones."

"Makes sense." HE shrugged again, at least flights made sense to him.

"They can feel just as intense though."

"Has he chased Farsith?" M'tias wondered if Woeth would chase his friends green "No he hasn't."

"Oh, ok. Look, I hope I'm not bugging you with all these questions."

"You're not, honestly." I'lan grinned. "Besides one day soon enough, you or Woneth will want to chase a green."

"True, when I'm older."

"Maybe sooner than you think, just one day he'll decide and off he'll go.
Naath was just like that."

"Really? What did you do when he deciced to chase?"

"Just went with it," grinned the bronzerider.

"It's that easy?" he was surprised.

"Yes, but it might help if you found a girl to... you know 'be with' first."

"Just ask?" he turned red, "HOw am I supossed to do that?"

"Sometimes they find you," replied his friend. "Or you could talk to Xuxha, she's helped a few people 'find' someone."

"Thanks." the brownrider half smiled. He'd been giving the weyrlings the same advice and not taken it himself.

"I was lucky, someone 'found' me and helped me. But Xuxha would know somebody."

"I'll ask her thanks."

"Anyway," said I'lan changing the subject. "Fancy grabbing something to eat?" "Sure, food sounds good."

"Then let's go hit those dining caverns."
