K'ran,
I was happy to hear they're taking such good care of you. I have
missed the opportunity to check up on you myself. Our talks were
always a pleasant end to a long and tiring day.
Make sure you follow the healers instructions. It normally makes for a
better recovery in the long run. Though I am sure you and Rogueth both
chafe to get back in the air. Not too soon, no more injuries please.
F'lin is a good young man and I'm sure the leaders there will soon see
the proof of it as you have. I hope he will give them time. He can be
a little hot headed. Please give him my best.
Did I tell you I've been learning to play chess? I know you enjoy it
and I'd admired the set you kept in your office. I'm sorry you were
only able to recover some of the pieces after the earthquake.
Hopefully when you visit we can sit down to a game.
I'm looking forward to Turns End celebrations and all the visitors who
will come. I've been here in the past for Emerald Falls Turns End and
it had always been wonderful. With the Harper Hall providing the
entertainment it will be wonderful I'm sure.

K'ran was delighted to receive a reply letter so quickly, and he found
himself eager enough to reply that the wait to find a quiet candlemark
and borrow a scribe was frustrating.
Dear Jayzine,
I confess to missing sitting with you in the Dining Cavern late in the
evening and having dinner. While I would never speak ill of any Weyr
Headwoman, the dishes here are different and I find myself missing
some River Bluff staples.
Our wing is getting by. There are many riders still shocked by what
happened and some are resentful. I'm encouraging them all to speak to
mindhealers. I think having F'lin and I around are helpful for them. I
hope by Turnover they will settle in more. I will pass your regards to
F'lin and all of them.
I would very much like to play a game of chess with you. When we're
cleared to /between/ again I will acquire a new set. Would you have
some time on the 20th, the day after a Threadfall?
