J'nev felt a delicious weight over half his body, holding him down. An arm was curled over his body and under his arm, the fingers of which was tucked into the crook of a bent knee belonging to a leg that covered his own. He tried to turn his head, but the motion was stopped by the damp forehead of the greenrider whose breath tickled his collarbones.
**We won...** was the first thought that came to him. But for the life of him, he couldn't remember whose dragon it was who...
"Oh, shards," he whispered softly, remembering just which green it was that Ankioth had claimed.
}:Kjarleheth is so pretty...:{ the bronze rumbled contentedly, no doubt curled around his prize just her rider was now curled around J'nev.
Kjarlitheth had flown high and fast, gathering the usual crowd of admirers and chasers. Many of them were regulars. This time her attention was caught by Ankioth. The green couldn't even remember they had once been wingmates. She was quite pleased with the bronze.
Aileyan stirred and her lids fluttered open. She wasn't quite as pleased when she recognized J'nev. Avoiding the bronzerider had been much easier since they were in different wings. Unlike her dragon, she hadn't forgotten all the unpleasent encounters with him.
J'nev wasn't sure what to feel in that moment. He also could remember all the venomous interactions. Aileyan had never seemed to have much use for him, but Faranth only knew why. The bronzerider had tried to be nice and act friendly. He had reached out to her when he was first put into Cyan Wing, hoping for a friend, and yes, perhaps hoping for more. He wasn't blind after all! But she had no use for any man but their wherry's ass of a Wingleader. And now he was gone, and she was left behind and forgotten. It was no less than she deserved!
And yet, he could feel every inch of her skin pressed up against his body. A familiar aching longing stirred inside himself. **Why couldn't you have been different? Why did you have to be like every other sharding greenrider in this Weyr? Only obsessed with sex and power?** After all, why else would she have pushed him away with such contempt while falling straight on her back for U'kaiah?
"J'nev, I haven't seen you a round for a long time," Aileyan said, trying to keep her tone neutral. She shifted away from him. How knows, maybe he had matured since the last time.
He suddenly could feel the loss of her body heat. "I saw you." J'nev remembered one particular night when Aileyan came walking in, dressed like he had never seen her before. She had made eyes turn that night for sure. She had left with a bronzerider from the Weyrleader's wing. She hadn't even looked in _his_ direction. That had been over a Turn ago now, but he had to wonder... "Are you seeing the bronzerider in Azure Wing still?"
"No, i'm not. I'm not seeing anybody right now," Aileyan replied. She remembered that night and the period following it. What a silly way try to get back to U'kaiah. But she was proved herself that other men wanted her.
J'nev felt a strange sense of relief. He hated picturing her in that man's bed. It had been hard enough when she had been so often in U'kaiah's company, but when he was gone, when she was finally free, the fact that she had not even considered him had been a rather strong blow to his pride. What had he ever done but try to make her see the error of her choice. She could have done so much better than their womanizing Wingleader. She could have had _him_...
"For what it's worth, I'm sorry U'kaiah left you." But how could things have turned out any differently, really. She had to have known that about him.
"Thank's," Aileyan said and tried not to look at him too long. It just reminded her that it had been three months since she last had sex. He was young and handsome and her body was getting ideas of it's own. She kept stealing glances though. Yep, he was as well equipped as U'kaiah had been.
They certainly seemed to be getting along better than the last time Ankioth had caught her green. J'nev had left with a red mark across his face that time. Of course, he had deserved it. He had said some terrible things to her. But he had been angry after she rejected his advances. Aileyan had been completely willing when she thought it was U'kaiah's bronze who had caught her green, but as soon as she opened her eyes and saw it was him, she treated him no better than a tunnel snake. **Sharding U'kaiah...** J'nev thought bitterly. He never did have much use for his Wingleader.
But U'kaiah wasn't here now...
J'nev turned his head towards her just enough to get a good view of what the greenrider had to offer, and his breath hitched. It was the dragon lust, but it was also more than that. He had always admired her, even with her clothes on. Images flashed in his mind as he thought of all the ways he wanted to touch her. His face turned crimson as he realized his body had betrayed his thoughts, and he quickly turned his body away from her. Had she noticed? He wanted to melt into the floor of the Flight Room and disappear!
Aileyan did notice and it made her blood rush into all kind of interesting places. She was still under influence of the dragon lust too.
"Keep saying nice things and who knows..." she hinted with voice growing husky with lust.
Nice things? When did they ever talk about nice things, J'nev wondered as he craned his neck around to look at her out of the corner of his eye. He still didn't trust that this situation could end any way but badly. And yet, she didn't seem to be going anywhere... "What can I tell you that you'd want to hear? That I hated seeing you leave the Dinning Hall with that sharding Azure rider? That I had wished it had been me?" It might not have been exactly nice, but it was truthful. That was better than what they had shared before.
"That's pretty nice," Aileyan said.
The broznerider still wasn't sure if he trusted her not to be toying with him, but he did slowly roll back over on his side to face her, a movement that brought him very close indeed. "What if I told you that from the moment I met you I thought you had beautiful eyes?" Even when she seemed to be using them to look down on him in disgust.
"You're learning," Aileyan murmured and leaned towards him, letting her fingers trail across his chest. Like all dragonriders, he had nice, firm muscles.
J'nev closed the distance so that his lips barely brushed hers. "Maybe I always knew. Maybe all I needed was the chance to show you what I could do." And as long as she was willing, the bronzerider was going to prove to her that he was every bit as good as that tunnel snake, U'kaiah.
"You have your chance now, since I unattached," Aileyan promised and filled that promise by pressing her lips tightly against his.
His fingers reached out to touch a very sensitive spot. He remembered that last time he had touched her like that. She had sighed with pleasure, a smile touching her lips. But then she had murmured another bronzerider's name... This time her eyes were open, but J'nev still wasn't sure she was really seeing _him_. "Say something nice to me, and who knows..."
"J'nev," she said with throaty voice, "stop talking." She let her hands to her talking.
If he had not been under the influence of dragonlust, if he had not wanted her so sharding bad since the day he met her Turns ago, he would have pushed her away right then and there. Seriously, could she not even give him one small hint of praise? **Well, flame it all,** he thought as he wrapped his fingers around the back of her neck and pulled her in to a kiss that held nothing back, **when I'm done with her, she'll have nothing _but_ nice things to say!**
