Z'al walked into the dining cavern and stopped a moment. He looked around for a place to sit. He noticed his old friend sitting alone. He quickly fetched a tray and made his way over. "So, you sit here alone often?" He said with a smile.

"Nice to see you up and moving." Jozia said. "Your eye still feeling OK?"

"So far so good. Been out of there for over two month now and not wishing to return. I'm just glad it wasn't worse. I mean I have a dragon and a kid to look after." He shook his head at the thought. "It was enough to be surprised just before everything got crazy."

"I remember the whole fiasco when your son arrived, but I haven't had the chance to see you since it happened. Then again, I have been kinda busy. Sorry about that."

"Not a problem. i'm just glad it has all settled down. Zamley loves his fostermother. She is the same woman who is taking care of Ada and Leeda. She is wonderful with them."

"Has Nyinth given him a ride around the bowl yet?"

Z'al chuckled as he ran a hand through his hair. "He has done more than that. He has taken him to the beach. He has even played with the boy." He let out a laugh, "Well as much as a dragon can. Nyinth loves the boy."

Jozia stabbed a rather thick slice of wherry meat. "Well, that's good to hear. So, what have you been up to?"

"Visiting the family and falling in love with a beautiful girl." He smiled as he took a bit of his tubers.

A bit of juice squirts out of Jozia's mouth. "What? You? In love? The man who wants every girl in the weyr and all the ones that aren't also?"

"I've changed my ways I tell ya. This girl has stolen one of the most important things to me. My heart." He smiled as he thought of her. "She liked me even with..." He motioned to his marks.

"Didn't I keep telling you that your scar did less for your image than you thought? Maybe next time you'll actually listen to your best friend?"

"Me? Listen to you? Never!!" He said in mock severity.

"True. When did you ever listen to a healer? Klah?" He offered the pitcher. "Say, you have any plans for the next restday?"

"Thanks." He held out his cup. "Hmmmm... next restday... Just spending time with Zamley. Perhaps we could have a picnic and you could join us. I could bring the girls, Zam, and Kirra."

"Girls? So you aren't restricting yourself to only one." Jozia teased with a wicked smile.

"Ada and Leeda you tunnel snake." He growled. He knew it was a joke. "Unless you don't want to join us."

"Sure, I'd love to. Itch and Scratch have been getting bored with the weyr anyway. Here's a question... in all of your wooing and romancing, do you think you might have a spare on the line for me?"

"Hmmm... Sorry no. All I got is Kirra and I'm keeping her." He smiled. "Next restday it is. I'll be looking for you in the weyr bowl to pick you up. Then we'll head for the beach for a day of fun."

"Alright then. In the meantime, you're late for your checkup. You were supposed to be in last sevenday. Does tomorrow work for you?"

"It works just fine." he smiled.
