Description: Lissath takes the skies.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 13, day 7 of Turn 7
It all changed within the blink of an eye. One moment Lissath had been
sleeping, albeit restlessly, not moving apart from the occasional
twitch of her tail. The next she jolted awake with a sudden fury so
fierce she could practically feel her heart burning out of her chest.
It had been building up for days now. First it had been a feeling of
discontent, then it changed to irritation and eventually a deep
bitterness and anger took over. She felt supressed, locked in,
suffocated by her very surroundings. And as she stomped to the edge of
her ledge, tail swishing furiously, she roared in total frenzy. She
did not belong here!
Looking out over the Weyr from her ledge, it was easy to see where she
did belong. The sun shone high up in the sky with a shimmering
brilliance only paralleled by the radiance of her own hide. That was
her home, that was where she belonged and no one would stop her from
getting there. She'd outfly them all.
But to get there, to last that long, she'd have to eat. She felt her
stomach burn with hunger like it had never before and she catapulted
herself off the ledge towards the feeding pens. The normally so wordy
gold could now only voice the whirlwind of emotion inside her in
meaningless, frenzied cries and roars.
It did not take Genna long to figure out what was going on. As her
gold´s raw emotion hit her consciousness, she jolted upright in her
seat. All her surroundings – a heavily crowded dining hall – were
suddenly forgotten. It felt as if everything suddenly fell in place.
All the previous challenges in her life, every time she'd butted heads
with Lissath, it all amounted to this moment. It had all prepared her
for reigning in this beast. Because that was the only word that rose
up in her thoughts as she felt the sudden madness in her beloved
Lifemate's mind, Lissath had become a beast. Tapping in to the images
from Lissath's eyes as the young gold swept over the feeding pens, she
knew she had to hurry.
Without excusing herself, Genna jumped up from the table. Everyone
would know why soon enough. Lissath was rising.
**BLOOD ONLY!**
Nirreth had been keeping an eye on the young gold (like pretty much
every bronze in the Weyr) whole day. He informed his rider as soon as
it happened. }: Lissath Rises! :{ His intention was clear from his
tone.
**Getting greedy, aren't we? Isn't one golden mate enough? ** G'nir
commented mildy, while he exused and dismissed the brownrider he had
been interviewing for the Wingsecond's position. Then he hurried to
join Nirreth in the feeding pens. ** I just hope she can control
her.**
Rogueth had been watching the young gold, in part due to his rider's
growing friendship with her, in part due to the natural interest of a
bronze in a queen. Now he saw her glowing form leap for the pens. This
gold would be his and his alone.
}:Lissath! I chase!:{ he informed his rider.
There was no hope for K'ran to call him off, and so the bronzerider
didn't even try. Besides, he was feeling an unexpected surge of
possessiveness of
his very own. **Blood yourself, you'll need it,** he warned.
Rogueth avoided his queen, not daring to risk her ire, as he dove down
onto a wherry and began
sucking it dry. He was confident, but he'd take the boost.
Taldeth had tasted gold once before and the moment Lisseth bugled her
fury, the bronze dragon's eyes whirled with desire. He _wanted_ her
just as every other male dragon in the Weyr wanted her.
}:Lissath Rises! I will follow!:{ He declared before leaping from
their weyrledge and flying towards the golden dragon in the feeding
pens.
T'nom was left to hurry down the inner stairs to join the other eager
riders who awaiting what would come next.
Torerath blooded his own kill along side the bronzes. He was more
maneuverable and this gold was young. A misstep could put him in the
right place to claim her. D'ale shivered when the spike of lust hit
him and set the hide aside he'd been writing. The schedule could wait
but not the flight.
One as young as Lissath was attracted by the noise and excitement. L'ger's
Sondrath might not know that he had no real chance, but instinct was a truly
powerful thing. The brown was at the feeding pens, trying his best to copy
their actions in killing and blooding his own beast.
L'ger himself was drawn to find the other riders, watching, waiting to see
what would happen next.
D'kere hadn't expected how odd it would feel to work with the
Weyrlings and then be apart of their mating flights as well. It wasn't
unnatural, of course, but it was a bit awkward to think that you might
wake up in bed one day with one of your students. However, D'kere knew
that there would be no talking Kenirath out of _this_ flight,
especially since Genna's dragonet was a golden beauty and he'd been
eyeing her glowing form for days.
The Weyrlingmaster's Second didn't even have to wonder where Genna
was, something about the relationship that you tapped into with your
dragon gave you an innate sense of the other's presence in a mating
flight. Soon, without even thinking about where he was going, D'kere
found himself in a pack of other men all watching Genna with
lust-filled eyes.
K'yne was on D'kere's left, his thickly muscled arms crossed over his
chest, his dark eyes shimmering like dark obsidian pools as he watched
the glowing queen blooding her kills, commanded by the beautiful
blonde standing before him. Arinoth, while only a brown, was large and
experienced, more so than the younger bronzes that were in the flight.
He waited eagerly on the Weyrrim for Lissath to take to the skies.
While no male had been foolish enough to approach the young gold too
closely, Lissath cried out with frustration, feeling ever more crowded
as their eyes followed her everywhere. A shriek of anger ripped
through the air as she dove for a nearby herdbeast, claws digging into
the meat more vigorously then ever. Just as she was about to sink her
teeth into the delicious meat, it was as if a whip hit her over the
side of her head and she cried out in anger once more. It was her
Genna, imposing her will upon her, just when she needed to be free.
Genna knew better than to reason with her beloved gold now. Where
normally she would have reasoned with her and explained why she wanted
things done her way, she knew that wasn't an option now. Explaining
would be a sign of weakness, an opening. So for the first time in her
life she merely imposed her will - every ounce of will-power she could
muster - and commanded Lissath to obey.
However intense the moment was for both rider and dragon, it lasted
only a second and then Lissath drank the blood of her victim. The
battle intensified over the second herdbeast, but the third was easier
and by the time Lissath blooded a wherry last, she had given in to
Genna's will entirely. But only for as long as it took her to suck the
wherry dry. Seconds later, she launched into the skies, ready to be
held back no longer.
And as Lissath beat her wings in frenzy, off to chase the sun, Genna
retreated into the flight room, giving herself up to the intoxicating
maelstrom of lust and anger that washed over her as if she'd never
know anything else ever again. The men would follow, as their dragons
followed Lissath.
