Lady Yanley

Yanley

~~ Mine!~~ It was not as much as a word as a feeling of propiety. Feral
surveyed her kingdom from E'naer's shelf, radiating proprietorship and,
well, Mating Lust. Male firelizards were already gathering, popping out of
/between/. They were gathering into his office. E'naer sighed. His office
was turning into a mating grounds.
E'naer wondered if firelizard queens were like dragon queens, in that case,
he probably should warn Tavia. He hastily scribbled a note and send a
drudge to take it for Tavia. Then he let the rest of the Weyrling staff
know that he was going to indisposed for a while. There was no way he could
concentrate to work with Feral Rising.

Aes appreared, dropping something furry and blood dripping to the floor.
The bronze looked at the tiny gold and crooned, pushing his offering
towards her. Feral flew down to inspect it.

"Not on the carpet!" E'naer exclaimed but too late, Feral had started shred
Aes' gift a part.

Timor approached her cautiously, crooning his admiration. The brown was
regular part of Feral's "court". Feral hissed at him when she felt he got
too close.

"There he is, I wondered why he flew off so suddenly," Taren appeared to
E'naer's door.

"He's drawn to Feral," E'naer grunted.

"You know, this could get interesting, for us," the Weyrhealer hinted and
gave the tall greenrider a look of interest. He walked further into the
room.

Thistle let out a protest when Bram left her side. The brown ignored her,
right now Feral was far more interesting. Yanley watched them curiously and
then just shook her head. She was not going investigate it.

When Swift broadcasted who was about to have a Flight, T'bel sighed. "Okay,
you can go, just so long as the first person you come back to is_me_not
G'wen. Got it?" The tiny bronze chirped and popped /between/.

Feral posed to her admires. Having blooded herself from Aes' offering, she
flew out of the ledge. The fair of males went after her. Mostly bronzes and
browns, few brave blues mixed in.

Swift popped out of /between/ and landed close to the other males. There
was the usual suspects, but he knew with a bit of luck, he could outfly
them all.

Feral made her final call for suitors. Then she launced towards the sky.
Her hide shone brightly.

Swift may have been a bronze but he was small and fast for one. Without
hesitation he was flying just behind the queen, leaving all the other males
in his wake.

Feral rose to the air, not nearly as high as the dragons flied but still
high. She danced and dipped in the air. She was fast.

Timor had problems staying her her wake. The brown was bit on the
stodgy-side, thank's to Ravyan slipping him tidbits.

Swift lived up to his name, diving with her and rising when she did. He was
certainly higher than he would have gone on his own outside a 'Fall where
he sometimes stayed close to Fanth just after it was over, just to make
sure she and T'bel were okay.

Bramble tried to best to impress her, while Aes relied to his strength as a
bronze. Feral just teased them and twisted away from their lustful claws.

When the tiny queen did that, Swift saw his opportunity. Enveloping the
gold in his wings, he caught her and twinned his neck around hers before
she could get away.

Back in his weyr, T'bel shifted happily towards his weyrmate. It wasn't a
dragon mating Flight but it was useful all the same. And G'waren wasn't
objecting.

The disappointed browns returned to their humans. Aes appeared and landed
to Taren's shoulder, obviously exhausted.
"You know, it's not dragon's mating flight, but I still worked up an
appetite..." the Weyrhealer suggested.

"I have work to do," E'naer said regretfully. It was an tempting offer.
Very tempting.
