We've talked about books and music, so how about movies! What are some of your favorites?

I love The Mummy and The Mummy Returns

Bambi and Jungle Book are childhood favorites
An American Werewolf in London (my favorite werewolf movie)
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Princess Mononoke
Captain Blood (1935 Errol Flynn pirate movie. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it)
and both Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Noises Off
Young Frankenstein

Family Man
Lion King
Fox and the Hound

Those are not all my favorites, but those are the ones I can watch over and over and never get tired of them :)

Bree

I like lots of movies! :D

Mummy & Mummy Returns... I agree with you there, Becki. :D They are so fun!

Other favorite movies... Serenity, The Cutting Edge, The Matchmaker, Fight Club.

But I like watching most things that started as comic books, anything that has crazy butt-kicking women as main characters, and anything that has any of my Cinema Boyfriends in it. ;) I'd sit through just about anything for Oded Fehr or Nic Cage or Colin Firth.

OMG!  I forgot Casablanca and Roman Holiday!

Vix

The ones I have and tend to watch over and over are the typical ones: LotR and HP series. I also have an incomplete collection of Monty Python but am expanding that.

However, I tend to watch musicals and sing along:
Chicago
Moulin Rouge
Jesus Christ Superstar
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Phantom of the Opera

There are more, but if I go look at them now, I'll have to pop one in and my flatmates won't appreciate me singing them awake at this time of the morning!

Quote from: "Dana"I have so many....
You have more favourites than I've watched in my entire life!

I watch Beauty and the Beast.  That's it.

Cali

I can't list them, there are too many...

Last time I tried to narrow it down to a manageable list my head almost exploded.   :cherry:

LotR (all 3 of them)
Little Miss Sunshine (I LOVED this movie.  It was so good)
Dragonheart
13 Going On 30
Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail
The Emperor's New Groove
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
The Land Before Time (up to the 4th one then they started getting to childy, even for me.)
The Little Mermaid
Date Movie (Stupidest movie on the face of the planet (excluding Napolean Dynamite) but I still liked it)
The Producers (Best musical EVER)
Rent
Phantom of the Opera
Harry Potter 3 and 4
Shrek
101 Dalmations (Both animated and live, though the animated one was my favorite until I was ten)
Fox and the Hound
Pirates of the Carribean (Both "Curse of the Black Pearl" and "Dead Man's Chest")
Finding Nemo
Gremlins

I could just continue listing my Movie shelves if you want...

Avery

I am a rare soul and do not like movies- I do not go see them often, I have not seen many. As a result, my favorites list is probably about half of what I've seen, total. My list also almost entirely follows a theme, if you can guess it :D

Battlestar Galactica (yes, the 1978 version spun off from the movie)
Star Wars
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Star Trek: First Contact
Jurassic Park
Gattaca
Phantom of the Opera
they/them/theirs! My Personas

Bree

Ooooh, Avril! I forgot Gattaca! That is one of my favorite movies of all time! Don't know how I missed it!

Empire Strikes Back is still my favorite Star Wars movie, but I'm not as big a dork about Star Wars as I was 5-8 years ago. ;) I still have my VHS THX remastered non-special edition tapes though. :D Those were the bomb before the DVDs came out.

The movies I've seen more than anything else are probably X-Men, The Cutting Edge, Empire Strikes Back, and The Mummy. I pretty much NEVER get tired of those movies!

I have too many favorite movies to list all of them - If I tried, I'd leave one out and feel really dumb when I read back over the list later.

So, I'll just list a sampling:

Fight Club
LotR trilogy
All SIX Star Wars movies (and I LIKE Jar Jar Binks, dammit!)
The Dawn of the Dead remake
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake
Spaceballs
Shawshank Redemption
Independance Day
Titanic
Lion King
10 Things I Hate About You
28 Days
My Dog Skip
Anchorman - The Legend of Ron Burgandy
50 First Dates
Children of Men
Talladegha Nights - The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
Casablanca
Spidermans 1, 2 and 3 (I KNOW it's gonna be good!)
All the Harry Potters (except perhaps the 3rd - in which the story had been butchered to the point of being nearly unrecognizable. This did have the added benefit of helping me convince no less than 4 different friends to read the book - which led to them being addicted to the series - because they were so confused by the movie and I told them how much it left out and they wanted to see if I was exaggerating)
The Island
Snakes on a Plane

and I'm gonna stop my list there... before the rampant and blatant misspelligns escape the confines of the post and kill us all in our sleep.

Dana

How could I forget My Dog Skip!  I love that movie!  And Spaceballs too!  And I forgot Homeward Bound, The Fox and the Hound, Toy Story 1 and 2....  And even though these aren't movies, my family and I watch them _all the time_: the complete seasons of LOST on DVD and the complete seasons of Frasier on DVD.  When we can't decide on a movie to watch, we just stick in LOST or Frasier  :D
