Quote from: "april"This is tough, I love movies, lots of movies.

Childhood favorites:
Last Unicon

I was obssessed with that movie when I was younger! Actually, it is sort of funny that you mention it, because my mom and I were just talking about it the other day...

:P I'm still obsessed with it. Although the book is WAY better. Actually, it's mostly the same with a few scenes filled it so that things make more sense. It's the only movie that makes me cry every damned time.

I'm also a fan of:
The Dark Crystal
The Shawshank Redemption
The Usual Suspects
Tremors *blush*
The Maltese Falcon
any of the Indiana Jones movies
Breakfast at Tiffaney's
The Cabinate of Dr. Caligari (best party movie because you can talk through it)
The Fifth Element

... and probably some others that I've forgotten. My favourite was (when I had tv) being up past midnight watching either old black and white movies, or weird B movies on the Space channel. :)

Patrick

Oh man I totally forgot The Dark Crystal.  And

QuoteSnakes on a Plane

Hehe so stupid.

That's what makes it so AWESOME!

I love all types of movies: romance; drama; comedy; action adventure; even some kids movies... let's see, naming them could be a problem.

Romance

Somewhere in Time
The Two Worlds of Jennie Logan
Titanic
The Lake House

Drama

Panic Room
Dances with Wolves
Purple Rain
Gattaca
Fight Club
Mean Machine (original pommie version)
Independence Day
Behind Enemy Lines (Owen Wilson *swoons*)
Frequency
Any Sandra Bullock movie

Comedy

50 First Dates
Rush Hour 1 & 2 (Gotta love Jackie Chan *heart does a flip*)
Shanghai Knights (Owen and Jackie *falls over in a dead faint)
Shanghai Noon (*ditto*)
Sweet Home Alabama
all of the Flying High movies (yeah I have a sick SOH)
Dragonheart

Action Adventure

Anything with Bruce Willis
Anything with Jackie Chan
The Bruce Lee Story
Speed 1 & 2

God, I could go on, but those are the ones that spring to mind.  I'd have to go through the DVD collection to list them all.

Shaffit! I forgot disaster movies!!

Disaster Movies

Dante's Peak
Tornado
Twister
Volcano
Daylight
Armageddon
Sudden Impact
The Poseidin Adventure (original is cheesy but good to watch on a cold winters night)

And if there were a worst movie thread...

SAW 1 & 2
The Grudge 1 & 2

- would top the list, followed by Unbreakable ( the only BW movie I hated!)

Nah, couldn't stand either of them.  No horror in one, just gore. And no horror in the other, just some goth chic on a good day... ;)

Ah, well, that's the difference. I, on occasion, really enjoy a spot of plain old gore. *G*

That reminds me, Texas Chain Saw Massacre - (original) - sux. Never bothered seeing the remake.

Oh and there was one my brother hired when he was about 15, it just had screaming women all the way through it. *rolls eyes* Drove me nuts so I took the remote control off him and wouldn't let him watch the movie after the first 15 minutes. Bloodsucking Freaks - or something like that.

Give me good old fashioned goth horror/murder mystery.

I can watch any Midsomer Murder or Inspector Frost (hmmm.... David Jason he might be old but ^_^)

Give me Taggart any day, but those of you in the USA may need subtitles for that one!

Have to agree, Taggart was good, but only the original movies with Mark McManus - the craggy guy was great to watch!

Went downhill after he died, it just didn't have the hard/jaded-ness that I loved about him.

The new guy is pretty good, but they got rid of almost all the original cast. But they can't rename it - nobody would take a Detective series called 'Burke' seriously! (Well not here anyway!)

*falls off chair laughing*

No I can understand that....
