Got the new kitten today. She is currently hiding under my bed. She is a very light creamy brownish color (tonk breeders refer to it as "honey").

She doesn't have a name yet... have to get to know her for a little while.

I've always wanted a tonkinese! They are so darn cute!

What you actually want is one of each breed.

I think the only reason my mom approved of me getting a kitten (very essential when you are a college student and live at home during the summer months) is because I wanted a purebred! I picked what I term a "normal breed" (short haired), compared to her kitties which are all "mutant hair breeds." (that one is a real term amazingly enough, not my own creation) She has a cornish rex, a devon rex (both are curly coated breeds) and a very dumb, very lovable sphynix (hairless).

I have one cat, a DLH named Slink.
He's a special needs kitty.

When I adopted him in August he had no fur around his neck, was extremely skinny, and would not let me touch him or even come near him. He lived here for a month before he even let me touch him and didn't learn how to play until he had been here for a several months.

His problem? He had been rescued from an owner who probably started out with good intentions, but ended up with 87 cats in his house and eventually abandoned them. Most of the cats were diseased and malnourished (the reason for Slink's fur loss) and emotionally stressed. All but 14 had to be destroyed, so Slink was one of the lucky ones.

I possess two, Moggy and Angel. Moggy's a shorthaired grey male with a very unusual eye problem. Angel's a white-and-brownish-grey longhaired thing. Incidentally, the Humane Society TOLD us she was a shorthair. Hah.

Princess was, apparently, born without a brain, butis without a doubt the sweetest animal in the world.
Triumphant only has three legs (Tri, get it :clown: ) but does not seem to know it.  Certainly has not slowed her down any.
Scarlett's original owner thought he was a she, until an unfortunate fur not cleaning incident *shudder*

I've got three kitties and a puppy.

Prince is a Siamese Domestic Short Hair mix who has no fur on his belly. The SPCA I got him from shaved him when they went to fix him thinking he was a girl at first, I guess. It's never grown back and I've had him for several years.

Elliot is a long haired brown and black kitty who loves tormenting the dog.

Molly is mostly white with calico spots on her head, one in the middle of her back and the end of her tail. She's a special kitty as she got hurt laying in the engine of a car and had plastic surgery to repair her face at the SPCA. She was even on an episode of a show on Animal Planet. Elliot is the one who helped her get better, so they were adopted together by my friend who gave them to me when her son was allergic to Elliot.

My dog is a Sheperd Lab mix who thinks she is a lap dog.

My first kitty was a DSH tortishell. My partents got her for me when I was 2 and I had her until I was 19. She was my best friend growing up!

New kitten is doing well... slept under the covers with me last night. Still no name yet.

It took 2 weeks for Slink's name to be revealed.

It took 16 YEARS for the old cat's name to be revealed, and even then we had to have her put to sleep before we figured it out.  Over those 16 years the vet always made out like we were failing as cat owners because we'd never named her.  You know, she ruled our household but apparently she was being deprived by being unnamed.

When we got in touch with the breeders to get the most recent cat, the first thing we asked was - Does he come already named?

Luckily for him (and us) he did!
