"Knock, knock." J'ren stuck his head through the door and grinned at
the goldrider. "I know, uninvited, but I thought I'd just check on my
favorite Rhosyn to see how she's doing."

"Your favorite Rhosyn? Are there others?" She had a confused look on
her face for a moment and then she broke into her normal half smile.
Things weren't the greatest but they were settling down. Her personal
life seemed to be up in the air though.

"You'd be surprised." J'ren winked, then settled into a seat. "You look
good, how are you feeling?"

"Things are finally starting to get back to normal. Nisheyl is with her
fosterparents. I have a Wing to lead, a dragon to take care of, and duties
to catch up on. Fortunately, Lenala kept most things up to date so.." She
wasn't physically back up to par yet, but she would be working on it. "And
you? What about your new wingleader?"

There was a tilt of his head and a flash in his eyes. What did he
think? Did she really want to know? J'ren refrained from speaking his
mind about the issue. After all, he wasn't the one who made those sort
of decisions for the Weyr, even if those decisions irked him. "He's all
right from what I've seen. I've not really spent any time with him
outside of drills."

"So he's flown well? I only met him the once I think.." She shrugged. Rhosyn
would probably have to rectify that soon. She didn't necessarily approve
of K'sedel promoting some new transfer so soon after the man had come into
the Weyr, but again it wasn't her business. "How are things with Lenala? I've
seen...she's changing. I think things are going well."

"Things are good. I've done a couple of things with her, but I have to
admit I'm not sure what to do. I mean, she's nice and I enjoy spending
time with her, but I feel like I'm not doing much good." Except at maybe
being a friend if that's what she wanted, but J'ren wasn't sure she was
even looking for that. The goldrider didn't even come to him to spend
time, it was always him going after her. Well, except once, but only once.

"Just be there to talk with her if she needs it. Point her in the right
direction. And anyway, it's good for her to have a healthy relationship with
a bronzerider for once." From what Rhosyn had heard, Lenala hadn't done well
with that in the past at River Bluff. "She needs a lot of encouragement I think-to
know she's doing things right."

J'ren nodded slowly. "She's smarter than she seems. I think a lot of
people only see the ditzy side of her, but there's more to her than just
that." It wasn't hard to catch the whispers that circulated through the
Weyr. They were a constant, and no one was immune - not even the
Weyrleaders.

"I think she is or she wouldn't have Impressed Vilarth. I just need to teach
her that she is. She doubts herself." Rhosyn had never had that problem for
most of her life. Instead, she was forced into self denial which had
never worked.

J'ren nodded slowly. He wished there was a way he could help, but he
was honestly stumped and didn't think he'd do much good. Still, if
Lenala needed someone, he was willing to be a friend. "Well, I'll
encourage her as best I can."

"Thank you. And it's time for me, myself, and I to get reacquainted with
all of my bronzeriders again apparently. Some new faces have come in." It
was one of those things that goldriders had to do. "At least I know K'sedel,
K'reyel, Y'gel, you, and U'das." She shrugged.

"We are the faces that never change." J'ren framed his own face with
his hands and batted his eyes before dropping them. "Well, I should
probably go take care of some work. Let me know if there's anything you
need from me." And, of course, she wouldn't hesitate if there _was_
anything.

"Oh right, go on ahead you lazy sack of dragon dung and abandon me to my
own work." She made a frowny face though it didn't stick for long and a
smile appeared. "Maybe I'll see you at dinner."
