Genna

The morning after the hatching Tavia and Sawauth were down by the lake
when the weyrlings emerged for their meal. Oh how she remembered those
times and a smile lit her face as she watched. Then she saw the girl
she'd met and talked with. Crossing toward where the little gold
demanded her food, Tavia chuckled.

"Well I guess you've got your task cut out for you with that one,"
Glory popped in with a puff of cold air and settled on her shoulder.

"I really do," Genna grinned sheepishly as she looked at Lissath, who
was staring at the newcomer intently, as if to peer into her soul.

}: You know her? :{ the young queen asked as she glanced back the
carcass Genna was cutting hungrily for a moment.

**Yes, she's nice.**

Lissath would have shrugged if she could }: Just keep cutting. :{

But she did look back at Tavia after having gathered some more
information from her Lifemates memories. }:You give advice to my
Genna?:{

"She's a feisty one," Genna laughed almost apologetically.

Tavia chuckled with her own knowledge. "They all are at this age,"
Glory chittered a little excitedly at her gold cousin, and Tavia's
hand rose to stroke a tiny eye-ridge. "I came to greet her and admire
you," Tavia replied to the gold even though she was a bit stunned by
the young dragon's speaking to her.

}: I see. :{ Lissath was quickly drawn away by the firelizard and she
sniffed in her direction curiously. }: Hello mini-me. Who are you? :{

"She's very curious about everyone I know, and isn't shy about talking
to them." Genna said with a grin. "I take it that's not standard?"

"Oh, it's very unusual for a dragon to speak to anyone other than
their own rider," Tavia smiled. Glory seemed to know the young
weyrling had spoken to her and chattered happily while sharing
pictures of fishing in a nearby stream. "Her name is Glory," she said
to the pair.

"I think Lissath wants to make sure everyone pays attention to her,"
Genna laughed. Lissath was still looking at the little gold and came
closer as she made a soft crooning noise. She was gold, she had to be
a bright, wonderful little creature.

"I'm sure everyone will," Tavia chuckled. "Shes beautiful and I'm sure
we'll all tell her so. You may not want to get too close though," she
added to Lissath, "or Glory may decide you're a good place to be a
hat. She does that all the time to Sawauth."

Looking back to Genna, "She feels that everything is hers, including
other dragons. But then I'm sure you've started to realize that as
well."

}: A hat!? :{ came Lissath's indignant reply. She considered this for
a moment as she peered at the little gold. }: Though I suppose a gold
hat would look good on me. :{ Didn't everything look good on her?

"Oh yes, that sounds quite familiar! Though I sincerely hope Lissath
doesn't start climbing onto others' heads!"

Tavia laughed at that. "No I doubt it. She'll be far to big for it
very quickly. Besides that Glory loves helping to wash dragons. She
hasn't had many here who will let her since we moved from Dolphin Cove
but Sawauth likes it." The little flit had stopped talking and was now
simply staring at the other small queen eyes whirling with pleasure as
Tavia caressed her.

"Maybe Lissath with allow her, she seems intruigued," Genna smiled,
motioning at the young gold who was inching closer towards the flit
again.

}: Be my hat, little pet! :{
Glory chirped and hopped off Tavia's shoulder to land on top of

Lissath's head then her own little head tried to peer into one of
bigger golds eyes.

Tavia just laughed and shook her head.

}: I've got a golden hat. :{ Lissath told her lifemate proudly,
peering up to the flit, making her look awfully silly.

Genna could only join in on Tavia's laughter. "You'd think they'd be
more.. solemn."

Tavia just shook her head. "Oh no," she breathed. "Not hardly."
