Description: E'naer helps Genna regain her bearings a bit
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 6, day 6 of Turn 7
Step by step, one foot in front of the other Genna reached the edge of the
Hatching Sands, Lissath waddling clumsily but purposefully ahead of her.
}: You think a lot :{ the young gold commented at the whirlwind of thoughts
that threatened to overtake Genna. }: It will all fall into place. It's all
as it should be :{
Genna felt pride swelling in her chest, though part of her wondered if the
reassuring bit wasn't /her/ job. "Yes. It's as it should be."
She looked looking questioningly into the eyes of one of the waiting
weyrlingstaff members. What was she supposed to do now? All her lessons
seemed an incoherent jumble in her head.
"Congratulations Genna. Now, the first priority...get her fed," E'naer
grinned happily and pushed a bowl filled with cut meat to the girls hands.
It was always exciting to get to train a gold weyrling pair. It made the
Weyrlingmaster feel proud and privileged. Almost like he was a proud papa.
Teseada and Onnyth had special place in his heart and now he got to teach
Onnyth's golden daughter. Being Weyrlingmaster's third just got better with
moments like this.
Genna took the bowl of meet gladly, as Lissath seemed to observe E'naer
closely. }: He will be our teacher? :{ she asked without any emotion
attached. Genna found it hard to decide if Lissath was being curious or
disdainful.
**Yes, this is one of the Weyrlingmasters. We are under his command.**
Genna stressed the command bit as she picked up a piece of meat between
finger and thumb.
Lissath swished her tail as she settled on her haunches again to take the
meat. **As long as he knows what he's doing.**
Genna glanced at E'naer, wondering if she should ask if this was normal
behaviour. She decided against it. This was only their very first day.
Their very first candlemark even.
"Are these all the right size?" she asked suddenly, remembering something
about the dangers choking hungry dragonets.
"Yes, and she do have teeths. Don't forget to tell her to use them," E'naer
said with slight amusement. He could feel Eillie reach out to examine and
greet the new comer.
}: Hi, little one. Welcome. I'm Eillispeth, I'm here to help and teach you.
:{
"I will," Genna laughed, if a bit half-heartedly, as she held out the first
piece to Lissath. "Chew, okay?"
Lissath sighed deeply. }: How else am I going to eat it? :{ she commented
as she chomped down on the meat. When she'd swallowed the pieces, she
turned her attention to Ellispeth.
**Greetings Ellispeth. I am Lissath. Do you know much to teach me?**
She had to, Lissath thought to herself as she took another piece of meat
from her lifemate. Because she was already pretty wise. A green who wanted
to teach her had to have a lot in store!
}: Of course I do. I taugh your dam, :{ Eillispeth replied. She didn't
actually remember teaching Onnyth, but she knew she had because her rider
remembered.
}: I've taught many dragonets. :{ Eillie was boasting a bit.
}: Then you must know what is needed, after all she managed to clutch me
after your tuition.:{ That seemed to settle the matter for Lissath and she
eagerly took another bite as it was offered to her by Genna.
Genna grinned sheepishly at E'naer, knowing he'd know exactly what Lissath
was saying and just how cocky she was already being. "Should I be worried?"
"Of her being typical gold? Cocky, strong willed and imperious? No. Instead
you should prepare for inevitable battles of will in the future. Don't let
her get what she wants everytime she wants. Otherwise you won't be able to
control her later," E'naer replied and instructed her. He didn't know Genna
that well, and could only hope she had the will needed to control a little
gold. Uncontrolled, they easily turned to nasty bullies.
Genna nodded seriously. "I think I can do that, as long as you promise to
warn me if I don't notice she's getting out of hand." Her smile was a bit
nervous. Hopefully, E'naer wouldn't take that the wrong way.
"Don't worry, that's why we are here," E'naer patted her shoulder.
"Thank you, Sir," Genna felt reassured by that. She wasn't the first to do
this and the Weyrlingstaff would be there to help her all the way. She
could do it.
}: Of course, that's why I chose you. :{ Lissath replied in that
self-assured tone of hers.
Genna grinned and offered her another bite, which the young gold chomped
down on quite happily.
She seems to have things well in hand, so E'naer moved to check the new
pair next to her. Lissath wasn't the only dragonet after all.
