Description: Rorela takes the dare
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 2, day 9 of Turn 7
Usually drill meetings were boring and not something Harki looked forward to,
but her bet with Rorela drew her to the meeting room early. She found a seat
near the front and balanced her mug of klah on her knees to wait for the rest
of the Wing to trickle in and the meeting to begin. If Rorela did smack G'nir
on the butt, she didn't want to miss it.
G'nir came in with his hides. "You're prompt, I like that," he complimented
Harki when he went pass her, with an approving nod. He took his customary
place at the end of the table and started to organize his hides. Fall schedules,
weather prediction, wing formations, all went to different piles.
Rorela followed him in, flicking her gaze at Harki and gave her a quick wink
before schooling her face into a semblance of professionalism. She could not,
however, hide the mischevous gleam in her eye as G'nir bent slightly to arrange
the hides. With a straight face, she spoke softly. "G'nir..hold very very
still."
"What?"
G'nir asked, turning his head slightly to her direction. His attention was
still mostly on the hides.
She flashed a wink towards Harki and then with a straight face, smacked G'nir right
on the bottom and then made quick brushing movements, as though brushing something
off. "Sorry...you had a crawlie on your rear. I didn't want it to bite you."
"Rorela!" G'nir turned around, startled. He frowned at her, not
believing a word of the crawlie-explanation.
Sh'lua had been following Rorela in (and admiring her back side). He had a hard
time not to laugh. "Can I do that too?" He couldn't resist asking.
Harki hid a laugh behind her mug of klah. Not only had Rorela followed through
on the butt smack, but she'd snuck a quick feel in there too. She wouldn't
regret the loss of that quarter mark.
Even though she'd finally gotten her hands on the rear that she had lusted
after in her youth, Rorela was able to keep her expression one of perfect
innocence. "You wouldn't want it to bite you during the middle of the
meeting, would you?" She blinked wide eyes and looked at Sh'lua, her lips
quivering as she tried desperately to keep a straight face. "When I have a
crawlie on me, sure."
P'nal was ignoring
this entire interaction. Dragonriders, being so close to death, were notorious for
letting off steam. So pranks were a fact of life. However, being as how Rorela
was so recently promoted, he didn't appreciate the fact that she was acting in
such a manner in front of her own wingriders at a formal wingmeeting, much less
that she was belittling her own Weyrleader. There were times and places for
that sort of thing. So the brownrider took his seat and tried not to think about
his qualms and how they directly related to actions like this.
"You keep your
hands to yourself, Sh'lua," G'nir told the big bluerider. "Everyone
take a seat and start acting like serious adults," the Weyrleader sounded
irritated.
It was difficult to manage a serious expression, but Harki did her best as she
made room for Sh'lua to sit beside her. So far, this was turning out to be the
best Wing meeting she'd attended since her return to Dragonsfall. And with
Rorela as Wingthird... well, there was hope that this wasn't going to be a
one-off event!
