Aminna was gratful that the trip to J'ren's weyr didn't reqire to many step, she wasn't _that_ young any more. "Ren' open the door would you?" she called as she reached his weyr. The tray in front of her carried all his favroites, it had been a while and she wanted to catch up with him. J'ren heard his foster mothers familliar voice and smiled. Opening the door he relived the woman of her burden with one arm and hugged with the other. "You should have waited Minna' I'd have carried this for you." he chidded.

"Don't be silly I know how tired you must be, that hadsome bronze of yours is already asleep." She smiled up and the young man, still supised at how much he'd grown. "What did you want to talk about dear?" Out of habit she started to reach for a comb, even as short as he wore it it was still a mess. His question stoped her however.

"Did you hear about my father?" he asked. The bronzerider had left himself and his sister at River Bluff after thier mother's death. "No J'ren, what is it?" she asked, even though she already knew. The man was a dragonrider afterall and no longer as young as he once had been. Neither was his bronze. Not old but not young, she thought, a phrase that applied to her as well.

"The last fall over Vista point. They went between and never came out agian. The note said nothing about a score, I guess it was a bad visual or somthing." J'ren wasn't sure how he should feel. Losing a dragonrair seemed to hurt worse than the fact that the rider had been his father. "I'm it Minna', both my parents are gone and so is Elaren." His voice faded as he mentioned his beloved sister, in the seventeen turns after her death he'd continued to grive.

The foster smiled sadly at the man she'd tried to raise. "I'm sorry dear, I'm sure he was proud of you. Your mother too. They loved being dragonrider's despit the danger."

"What was she like, my mother? I should remeber her but I don't."

"A pretty woman, if frail. She used to talk about how she was sure you'd make a wonderful rider, bronze just like J'kann. She loved your father very much almost as much as she loved her green." She was tempted to ask about Elaren, but knew it was still a very painful subject. "I got a note from Mostark the other day." She told him, the harper had been the only one of the foster children with her who J'ren could have been said to be friends with as a child.

The bronzerider listened to the dicription of his parents quitely, at the mintion of his foster-brother he smiled. "How is he?"

"Floating on dragons wings. His wife just had a son and he was given the transfer he asked for. Saphire Meadows Hold I belive."

"That's wonderful, I should stop by and see him." The bronzerider was happy for his old friend. "Glad he's content with his lot." Aminna smiled, glad he was in a better frame of mind so quickly. She doubted he would worry her as he had in the past, not for much longer anyway. He seemed to finally be healing, even with this new loss.
