No luck

Writers: Emma, Paula
Date Posted: 14th May 2013

Characters: Taren, F'neb
Description: Taren meets F'neb but doesn't get lucky.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 13, day 25 of Turn 6

Taren tossed the instruments for the tray with loud clank and with dull
voice declared the patient dead and the time of death. Sometimes you just
couldn't save them.

Leaving the journeyman to clean up, he scrubbed his hands clean and exhanged
to clean tunic. He need something to distract him, something to burn away
the frustration, the anger of failing to save a life had created. First stop
however was for klah.

Taren found himself lining for the klah pot. In front of him was man with
red hair. That always sparked his interest. His back side didn't look bad
either.

"Nice view," he commented.

That got the bluerider to turn around, "The klah pot, or something else?"

"It just gets better," Taren grinned when he got to see his face.

"You're the WeyrHealer right?"

"Yes, I'm Taren. You would be?" Taren answered and asked.

"F'neb, Ornigeth's rider," said the bluerider with a smile.

His knots told him he was bluerider, better and better. "A pleasure to meet
you," Taren said. The way he said turned it to a flirt.

"And you, but I promised my weyrmate I'd get her some klah, and she is
expecting me."

"Aw, blimey. I guess I settle just for the klah then," Taren was
disappointed.

"I'm sure I will see you around though," F'neb said, casting an eye over the
healer. "After all, it's not that big a place."

"It's not and I always keep my eye open for red heads," Taren replied.

"You never know when you'll encounter us," the bluerider's words were almost
jokey, almost something more and could be taken any way the healer intended.

"Mm, indeed," Taren gave him a grin.

"And in what situation. But if you'll excuse me now, my weyrmate is
waiting?"

"Sure, sure," Taren waived him to go along.

F'neb gave him a grin in return. Healers were always handy people to know.

Taren watched him go with disappointed sigh. Well, better luck next time. Perhaps he should check if there was any green flight going on. The Flight's losers were always looking for someone to burn the dragonlust with and Taren was still looking for a way to burn away the frustration of losing a patient.
