Description: Jessmyr works as P'nal's assitant and receives a little gift.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 13, day 9 of Turn 6

Sitting there at his desk, he looked down at his list and the hides that
stared back at him. He had been staring at them
for too long and it was time they get out of his sight. P'nal knew it
should be about time for Jessmyr to come in and assist
with some of that. The boy was a blessing in more ways than one.

Jessmyr knocked before he entered. "Hi, P'nal," he greeted. He liked
working with the Wingsecond, it made him feel important
and useful, like he was doing his part for the well being of the Weyr.

"Oh you're here. Thank Faranth." Gesturing to the chair, he prepared to go
over the list of tasks he thought Jessmyr could handle. "Hope you had a
good meal since I think this may take some time, Jessmyr."

"I had. What are we doing today?" Jessmyr replied and pulled himself the
chair.

"Okay all of those are Wing Records that I've updated. They'll need to be
filed away again. These, on the other hand, are
some messages that will have to be delivered. I put the Records in
alphabetical order, but that's as far as I got." It had taken
a bit of time to manage that.

"Right," Jessmyr took the records and deliveries, keeping them carefully in
different piles. At least making deliveries was familiar to him. Before his
coming to the Weyr, he had been training for being a Runner. His heart
condition had made it impossible but this was close enough. As long as he
didn't have to run.

"Was there anything I didn't finish last time that was on my list?" He was
trying to remember, but he'd slept since then and oiled a dragon and had a
Wing meeting.

"No, I got them all done," Jess replied.

"Thank Faranth for that." P'nal leaned back and pulled something from his
drawer. "Almost forgot. Got ya something." He wanted the boy to know his
hard work was definitely appreciated and he was thankful to have an
assistant. It freed him up to do research in the Records and talk to his
wingriders individually.

"What?" Jessmyr asked curiously.

"It's not much but I thought you might like it." He had picked it up at a
Gather. Handing it over to Jessmyr, it was actually a small bag of candy.

"Aw, you didn't have to. Thank you!" Jessmyr was genuinely pleased. As he
had been born to runner-family, sweets and candies had been rare treats.
Runner had to be lean, and eat healthily.

"Yeah well you deserved a little something and most folk like candy so
there you go. Your hard work doesn't go unnoticed." Matter of fact, he was
thankful for the help and was secretly pleased he was getting some when
some of the other Wingleaders might not be.

Jessmyr smiled and nodded.
