Description: P'nal clears Fanth to rejoin the wing
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 9, day 17 of Turn 6

The small green preened and spread her wings when her wingsecond
joined her and her rider by the feeding pens. She was feeling good
and it showed in the healthy gleam of her hide and the bright look in
her eyes. Beside her, T'bel gave a grand wave of his arm, jokingly
showing her to P'nal.

"So what d'you think?" he asked grinning.

"Well, she seems healthy enough and I have the report from W'ser
saying all is well..." P'nal slowly walked around the green, looking
closely at where she was injured particularly. "If you don't mind, can I get
a bit closer, Fanth?" he looked up at the small dragon as he waited.

She obediently stretched out her hind leg so he could take a
closer look.

Walking very slowly, he examined the green, searching for any signs
that wounds had not healed. Her wings spread easily which meant the
joints were fine. When he was satisfied, he came to stand beside T'bel.
"She's ready. Are you?" His voice held a hint of a friendly challenge,
but it was clear he'd be happy to have the greenrider back.

"I think so..." T'bel gazed out, thinking of the two dead riders and
their dragons.

"There's no shame if you're not. If you need to talk to someone, you've got
time. I don't want you out there if you're not ready." They didn't need anyone
else out there hurting others due to their heads not being on right.

"No, I'm ready."

Walking over, he slapped T'bel on the shoulder. "Well then, let's go
get you a current schedule and maybe a mug of ale."

"Sounds good!" Already he was walking in the direction of the Dinning
Hall, as Fanth took to the skies behind them.

"So what else has been going on in your world that I don't know about?"
he asked conversationally as they made their way through the tunnels and
around the people.

"Well, G'wen's had a relapse, poor kid. So Swift and I have just been taking
care of him and helping out with Neath, that sort." He reached up to pet the
bronze flit as they walked.

"What kind of relapse?" That could mean a lot of things so P'nal was going
through his mind trying to figure out what had happened to the greenrider
now. He knew the boy was on J'darin's staff now, but that was about it.

"Something to do with his blood, or something like that..." The healer had
explained to him but it had gone in one ear and promptly out the other.
"Something to do with his infection. He took too many transport duties and
made himself ill. Silly kid, but tough. He and Neath'll be a good fighting
pair if they ever survive themselves." Finding an empty table, T'bel sat and
poured himself a glass of wine from the full skin sitting there. It was close
enough to the dinner hour that he didn't feel guilty doing so.

"G'waren prolly wasn't too happy about that hm?" the brownrider commented
as he signaled for some rolls and klah brought to the table. With it
being so cold outside, he needed to warm up quickly.

"Well, what's he gonna do? It's not like the boy had any experience with
this and I don't think it's common at all. I can't remember the last person who's
had a blood infection and lived through it, can you?" As he talked Swift
hopped off his shoulder and fell onto the bread on the table, attacking all of it
like he thought a tunnel snake might be in the middle.

"Well if the infection was that bad, why was he flying elsewhere anyway? I
would have thought the healers would have grounded him or at least kept him
here. Speaking of which, that new guy-he means business, but he's a
little odd." His first meeting with Taren had seemed a bit strange.

"Is he? Oh, you mean about liking ginger folks? Yeah well, someone
has to." T'bel smirked a bit.

"No I missed that part. I'm just saying, he tracked me down in the tunnels
to remind me that it was time for my physical and then his jokes...well I
dunno... it was just odd. If he's competent in his craft though, I guess it doesn't
matter." The brownrider wasn't used to offbeat humor for the most part. Riders
in general tended to be a dry lot.

"He's not so bad."

"We'll see. I'll have to work with him in the future so I suppose I'll find
out." Downing the rest of his mug, P'nal passed over a copy of the current
schedule. "This should be it for the next two sevendays unless there's a weather
issue."

"It's winter..they'll always be a weather issue!"

"You know what I mean," he replied with a quirk of his eyebrow.
