Lady Yanley

Yanley
D'ale

D'ale

Yanley dismounted her runner when she reached the old herder's
shelter. During summer, herders stayed there when they watched over
the grazing beasts. During the winter, the shack was abandoned,
although it was maintained just in case some traveller needed shelter
from Thread Fall. That's why Yanley knew there was firewood inside.
She been a girl when Petriv had taken her here for the first time.
They had stayed over-night and he had told her stories.

She glanced the sky. She knew she was early. Tethering her runner, she
took off the basket and blankets and went inside. She would have time
to get a fire going and warm up the place before he arrived. Thi and
Bram curiously explored the place while she concentrated on starting
the fire. The furs in the shack smelled like dust and she took the
outside to air.

D'ale had been preparing for this meeting for several days. Ever since
that first night he'd actually held Lady Yanley in his arms he'd had
trouble getting her out of his thoughts. Of course he could
concentrate on his work but it was when he was alone in his weyr that
he had the most trouble. She was different from all the women around
him. For her the act of making love was special and that made it
incredibly special for him as well. D'ale was a romantic in his soul
and she brought that out in him. She'd given him something precious
and he treasured it.

So it was with a smile, a bottle of wine, and a gift that he and
Torerath arrived at the small shelter. He had his lifemate set him
down a ways away from the runner so as not to terrify the poor animal.
He crunched up to the door and knocked. The thread of smoke from the
chimney told him someone was there but he didn't want to give anything
away if it wasn't her. "Hello?"

Yanley opened the door carefull and peered out first. Last thing she
wanted to was run into some holdless bandit. When she saw who it was,
she pulled the door all open. "D'ale!" her face lit up.

D'ale gave her a crooked smile before he slipped in the door wrapped
an arm around her waist for a kiss while a foot pushed the door closed
behind him. "Hello my dear," he said when he came up for breath

"I've missed you," she said breathlessly.

"I've missed you too," he smiled down into her eyes. Fingers reached
up into her hair to let it loose. It was so beautiful and long he
couldn't get enough of looking at it.

"How are things at the hold?"

"The usual," Yanley replied. "I did receive a warning though, not to
associate with dragonriders too much, it might ruin my reputation,"
she sounded sarcastic. Like she would care. Only thing she seemed to
be able to think was when she would next see him.

"Oh did you now," He pulled her toward a nearby chair and into his
lap. "They're right you know." Not for the first time he worried about
her future. But he couldn't stay away as long as she was willing to
see him.

"Mmmm, yes, you're terribly corruptive," she said, her arms wrapped
around his neck, she leaned to kiss him.

As she kissed him he took possession of her lips and reached down
toward her hem to begin sliding a hand up under her skirts. "I try,"
he said when the kiss finally broke. His head moved toward her neck
where he began a concerted assault on her senses.

"It so unfair. Nobody is worried that I might be corrupting totally
innocent dragonriders," Yanley murmured and her fingers explored his
skin. She moaned with pleasure.

He chuckled. There was so much lovable about Yanley and her husband
had been a fool to cast her off. Of that much he was certain. "Yes
totally innocent." His fingers played with sensitive areas as he
watched her face and the magic that happened when he gave her
pleasures.

At that point, Yanley forgot how to think or talk. It was all sensation for
her.

He brought her to the precipice but didn't let her go over. Instead he
stood and carried her to the bed.

** The furs are still outside!** flashed through Yanley's mjnd and was
soon forgotten. The hay-filled mattress was enough for them.

He laid her down on the mattress then glanced quickly around the room
for a blanket. The small fire hadn't heated the place completely and
he didn't want to expose her to the chill air with out anything to
cover them. "Where's the blanket love," he said softly. But he saw her
cloak and grabbed that for the moment. Then he went to work undressing
her with more than his eyes.

"Outside, they were smelly. They probably frozen now," she somehow
managed to reply.

D'ale got them both undressed and partially covered by her cloak
before he too succumbed to an inability to think. He watched as the
woman under him turned almost incandescent. When he finally slumped
spent at her side, he pulled her into his arms and kissed the top of
her head.

"Mm, this is a nice way to spend an afternoon riding," satiated Yanley
murmured and snuggled against him.

"Yes," he murmured and turned toward her. She was so warm and an
inspiring bed mate. But more than that. D'ale tilted her face up to
his for a soft kiss. "I do want you to be careful Yanley. I don't want
to ruin you." His thumb brushed a strand of hair out of her eyes.

"Ruin me? What do you mean by that?" Yanley asked.

"Your reputation, sweetheart. The Weyr is different, nobody would care
there that we'd slept together." He couldn't imagine the kind of grief
she'd get from her family if they really knew what she'd been doing
and with whom. Of course he didn't think either U'kaiah or G'nir would
thank him for it either if her family complained. "But at the hold..."
he left the words hanging in the air.

"After being thrown out by my husband after 25 turns of childless
marriage, ruining my reputation is least of my worries," Yanley
replied, bitterness seeping through to her voice. "If we're careful,
no one will ever know," she added. She felt she deserved this, a bit
of happiness for herself. For so long, she had been the perfect Lady,
someone's daughter or wife. Now, she could be just her, woman named
Yanley.

When D'ale had met Yanley he'd been attracted by her dark beauty. He'd
always been partial to women with her coloring. But now that he knew
her so much better he realized just what a treasure she really was. A
burning anger at her former husband built in him, he'd just thrown
away a woman any man would prize.

He gathered her to him and kissed her forehead. "He's a sharding
fool," he said evenly. "But I'm grateful his stupidity has given me a
chance to know you."

"Every cloud has a silver lining," Yanley murmured. When she was
married, she never even dream about other men. She had been perfect,
loyal wife.

"It does, it really does," he said his voice lowered as his desire
began to peak again. He cupped one of her breasts and dipped his head
to taste it's sweetness.

She was all ready for more.
