Description: The steward goes to see the Master Healer about a nasty bite.
Location: Emerald Falls Hold
Date: month 5, day 10 of Turn 6
Scratching his face, he continued to look at the bump that had gotten bigger on his hand. Frowning at it, he began to get annoyed at the thing. He'd put cream on it and everything. Still, the thing wouldn't go away. Becoming concerned, he went to see the Master Healer. Entering the small infirmary, he stood there, looking to see if there was anyone before him.
Miranek nodded as he came out of his small office, disturbed by the noise
that feet had made entering the infirmary. "Can I help you?"
"I hope so," he said before he proffered the hand with its obvious ugly
looking bump.
"How did you do that?" The healer asked as he quickly rinsed his hands with
redwort solution.
"Well, it showed up one day and it steadily got worse. I've been putting
stuff on it, but nothing's happened." He wondered if the healer would lance
it.
"I see." Miranek gently examined it. "Does it hurt to the touch, or feel
itchy?" he asked.
"Aye it hurts certain," Sarban watched him, wondering what exactly was
wrong.
"Have you been scratching it at all?"
"A little bit at first, but then I just started putting the cream on it and
that took the itching away." He had almost thought the thing might burst open on its own, but it hadn't so far.
"I think something bit you, a spinner maybe," Miranek said after a moment.
"Most people don't even notice them, but it depends on the person and the
spinner." The Healer reached for a salve. "There isn't an awful lot I can do unless it obviously gets infected, and I don't think this one is yet. Use this salve on it at least three times a day, it should relieve the itching and help it heal. But if there is no change in a few days, then come straight back."
"Thanks, Master. I'll be sure to do that. Now, if this thing does come open, what then?" He had to admit, it looked angry enough.
"Straight back to whoever is on duty here to get it properly cleaned and
dressed."
"Roger that," he said quickly. "Honestly, would you say it might be better
if that happened anyway? It looks like there's plenty of nasty under there."
"You need to give it time to heal on its own," repeated the healer.
"Allright. I surely hope it does. Ugly looking thing and infernal creatures.." He hated the skittering things, though he knew they ate other pests.
"These things do usually clear up on their own."
"That's a relief, though I'm going to be more vigilant." He promised then
grabbed the salve he was supposed to take. "Thanks for checking it, though
you might have other things to do."
"They have a habit of getting into places you wouldn't think," commented
Miranek.
