Teseada

Teseada

He wasn't quite sure she'd be able to help him, but it was a thought anyway. So P'nal headed to find Teseada. He had an idea in his head and the brownrider wanted to see it through. Heading through the empty corridors, he saw the back of her head. "Hey weyrwoman," he called, hoping to get her attention.

"You promoting me behind Hygalia's back?" joked Teseada as she turned to see the brownrider.

"Just using the term reserved for junior goldriders," he answered easily.
"And anyway I think it sounds better than hey goldrider...." D'nev's little girl was getting bigger, that was for sure. He was glad she had had a successful flight and hatching the last go round. "I needed to ask a favor if you have time."

"What can I do for you?"

"Well I was thinking...We fly with you all during actual thread. However,
the other times we drill separately. I was wondering myself if we might
drill better if we had a gold under us during those times too. Use the
dragons' instincts to our benefit." He waited to see what she thought.

"Like a Great Drill?"

"Sort of, but not with the whole Weyr and not with the whole Queen's Wing.
That's too much, I think. We only do that every so often. I was just
thinking my wing and one queen, to minimize the chances of getting hurt. If it works, then maybe we can do it every so often with the others." She would know better than he did the value of such a thing. Despite her turns, she was the Wingsecond of the queens' wing and he knew she knew her business.

"Let me take that idea to Hygalia and the Wingleaders at our next meeting,"
she said after a moment to think on the idea. "We may need to rejig rotas,
but it sounds like a good idea to me."

"Yeah I wanted to run it by you to see what you thought before I even put it to G'nir. If it wouldn't work, there was no point." He shrugged, thinking about the possibilities. If there were a gold present, they might also want to impress her, which would spur the need to do better.

"Well write it up, because if I know him he'll want more details than just
the idea," suggested Teseada.

"Mmm not hard to do that. Could you maybe send a copy of your wing's
schedule to me so I could try to fit that around it too? Cause if the timing doesn't work...your wing comes first." He wouldn't dare upset the Weyrwoman. That was just dumb.

"I'll find a candidate to drop it over later today," she promised.

"Thank you weyrwoman. I'll send what I have to G'nir and I'll look forward
to hearing whether or not this is a go so I can set everything up." He
nodded, already thinking of the possibilities.

"I'll make sure someone lets you know what happens."

P'nal gave a Teseada a small shake of the arm. "Thanks. I'll talk to you
later." Taking his leave, he left her to go on her way once more.
