G'wen, if anyone, deserved a little pampering and something nice to
cheer him up. The boy had been officially released from infirmary, but
he wasn't yet assigned to any wing. Having being seriously Scored
himself, E'naer knew how hard the recovering could be and how
depressive this mid-stage was: you weren't infirmary patient any
longer, yet you weren't fit to do much. Besides, he really, really
liked him and wanted to express it some other way than with a quick shag
in his office.
So, he knocked on G'wen's weyrs door, little cart with him. The covered
plates had a nice dinner from the kitchen, wine bottle was cooling in
bucket of ice and the bright, tropical flowers E'naer had picked
from some warmer climate would cheer up anybody.
"Hang on! I'm coming!"
G'wen disengaged himself from pampering Neath. Even though he
couldn't yet wash her or oil all of her--the lovely Delria and Catrien
had been doing that for him--he could do small things, like oil her
face and clean her wallow out. With one last pat and buff on Neath's
cheek, the small lad walked back into the weyr proper and opened the
door.
"E'naer! What a surprise!" He stepped back to let the older man in
and blushed a bit, wishing he looked a bit more becoming for him.
"Hello, G'wen. How are you doing? I thought you needed something nice in
your life," E'naer replied and pushed the cart in.
"I'm okay." The smaller greenrider blushed when he saw the flowers on
the cart. Were they for him? No one ever got him anything romantic!
He teetered around, wondering if he should kiss E'naer or was it not
that sort of visit? Biting his lip shyly, he asked, "and you?"
"Just fine. Do you have any vase for these?" E'naer asked and gave him
the flowers.
"I've never gotten flowers before," G'wen mumbled before walking into
the kitchen area and looking for an empty--and clean--glass to put
them in. "Where'd you get them?"
"You haven't? High time then. Eillie and I did a little trip to this
tropical island we know of," E'naer replied.
G'wen gave him a smile and decided if E'naer wasn't going to kiss him,
he'd be the first one to do it. Standing on tip-toe he did just that.
"Thank you, I wish I could see that island sometime."
"Maybe I should take you there. Later, when you're recovered and fit
to travel," E'naer said, smiling.
"That'd be nice." G'wen winced a bit when he rocked back on his
heals. It jarred his back.
"You all right?" E'naer asked, noticing the wince.
He nodded. "Yeah, I just jarred my back a bit. You're too tall, you
know." He smiled to let E'naer know he was teasing.
"Can't help it," E'naer laughed. "Now, put those flowers in to water
before they wilt," he enjoyed watching G'wen smile or laugh.
G'wen rolled his eyes at him before filling the glass with water and
doing what the greenrider said. After fluffing them a bit, he turned
back to E'naer. "They're really lovely. And they smell nice too."
Already their strong tropical scent was filling the small weyr.
Taking the man by the hand, he walked back to the tray of food. "So
what'd you bring me?"
"Whatever the kitchen came up," E'naer said and lifted a cover from a
plate. "Look's like juicy herdbeast steak with spicy tubers and the
compulsory greens."
"I like the greens." G'wen chuckled and held up one. "I used to
think these were little trees when I was small. Well..smaller, that
is." Putting it back on the plate, he cleared off some books from the
weyr's small table and got E'naer a chair. As he sat down to eat, he
asked, "so how's the other weyrlings going? Any other injuries?"
"Besides N'den and F'tarn, no. We have been fortunate not to have any
death's," E'naer replied. He poured them both wine.
"You trust me with this stuff? You're a brave man." G'wen grinned
and took his glass.
"I'll be keeping an eye on you, unlike Sh'lua, and I won't let you
close anything stronger," E'naer smiled.
"Except yourself, of course," G'wen flirted before eating his dinner.
"Well, I'm not drinkable, although you can get drunk from me," E'naer
knew how to flirt too.
"Well, certain parts of you could be considered 'drinkable.' But I
meant more the 'anything stronger' bit." G'wen laughed at the thought
and eyed E'naer.
"Well, if you think it _that_ way," the older greenrider's eyes twinkled.
"Well yes..." G'wen got up and circled around the table. With a
mischievous glint in his eyes he sat down on E'naer's lap and curled up
against his chest. "Particularly the stronger bit. I love feeling
safe, y'know."
"Who doesn't?" E'naer just enjoyed having him there. His free hand
started to fiddle with G'wen's hair.
The boy sighed when E'naer stroked his hair. He was small enough that
he could curl up comfortably on the man's lap without feeling awkward.
Placing his head against E'naer's chest, he sighed blissfully. "You
know what I'd like?"
"And what would that be? Get into trouble?" E'naer teased gently.
"Nah, I do that all the time as it is." G'wen sat up to look E'naer
in the eye. "No, what I'd like is a nice long night of just being
held. No one's just cuddled with me yet, not even you. It's all just
been sex."
"I would love to cuddle with you," E'naer replied. He could understand
the feeling.
"Good." G'wen leaned in for a slow, sensuous kiss.
E'near murmured with pleasure. Yes, taking it slow with G'wen was
certainly a good idea.
