Teseada

Teseada

Catrien looked at the book, then turned it sideways, before looking
back at G'wen. They were both sitting on his bed with Delria and
Teseada close by. The soft snores of Neath drifted into the cosy room
where the four had come to after seeing Onnyth's eggs. She took a
nibble of a pastry before announcing her opinion. "That can't work!"

Putting his cup of klah down, the green weyrling took the book and
laughed at the picture she was indicating before waving it at Teseada.
"And we thought that book you had was lewd!" He tossed the book face
up on Delria's lap so she could see the painting of a man and a woman
in a body twisting position that looked positively painful.

Turning the book sideways, Delria examined the complicated pose. "I...I
have no idea what. I'm looking at. This can't be doable." Shaking her head,
she turned another page and found another picture. "Now this seems doable.
Probably need something to hold on to though for sure." She giggled and
tossed the book back on the bed

"That one is possible." Teseada said with a grin.

"And how would Miss Gold Rider know?" G'wen teased, raising an eyebrow.

Teseada blushed, not wanting to say she'd done that, or at least attempted
it.

The boy rolled his eyes and took the book from her. After flipping
through several pages, he opened to one and held it up. "Well, I've
done that position," he said with a silly grin.

"I thought you were a virgin!" Catrien looked up at her friend. How
come no one ever told her what was going on in their lives? Of
course, to her, G'wen would always be that shy boy with the mane of
hair, hiding away in the kitchens.

"You never told her about..." Teseada began.

"F'neb?" He looked from one girl to the other. "Of course I told you
about him!" He nudged Catrien on the arm. "You just forgot. But
forget about him, there's a guy..." He blushed and tried to hide the
huge smile that broke over his face.

Delria was content to just watch and listen. She was a little glad no
one was asking her about her casual encounters. She wasn't really the
kiss and tell type of girl though she was sure she had done at least
one or two things they hadn't. This thought took her back to that time
and she smiled to herself. Upon hearing about G'wen's new beau, she
decided to speak up. "New guy?
Do tell!"

G'wen blushed a bit deeper. "Well..." he shrugged his shoulders and
pouted a tiny bit. "I think it must have just been an afternoon
fling..I haven't heard from him since...but he was this bluerider over
at Dolphin's Cove..."

"I thought you went there to see Meledei!" Catrien looked aghast at
her friend. No one_really_did tell her about their love lives, did
they?

"I did...but I also went to look for someone who's not a Dragonsfall
sleazeball." He expressively rolled his eyes at his opinion of the
blueriders here. "And there was this man who...erm..took me back to
his weyr, as there was a storm coming and all...OH and I got to see
the ocean!"

"Hey scatterbrain, tell us about the ocean later, back to the man
bit!" Really, G'wen was getting more and more greenrider-like
everyday, Catrien thought to herself.

"Well, we...erm...we did that position." He pointed to the book.

Delria snatched the book up and gawked at the image G'wen had indicated.
Her mouth fell open in shock. Passing the book on she looked to the
greenrider. "G'wen! That's crazy! How did you even come up with that?
Do you have like a
pocket size of this book somewhere?"

"No, I'm thinking he's memorised it while a junior weyrling," suggested
Teseada, an evil grin on her face.

"Hey! Maybe it was C'jex who knew how to do it..." G'wen suggested,
giving Tes a swat on the arm for good measure.

"C'jex! He has a name!" Cat teased him, as she took another pastry
off the plate. Really, if they were all about to get rambunctious she
should save the sweets that were left before they got trampled. Or so
that's what she told herself.

"Of course he has a name." The boy nudged her before frowning
slightly. "But I've not heard from him since, so...y'know..." He
sighed at that. C'jex had been nice...he would make someone a good
weyrmate someday but it was not to be G'wen, that he was sure.

"There will be other's dear. People are always transferring into the Weyr
so maybe you'll get lucky. Besides, with a dragon at your call, you could
entertain several options and by options I mean men," Delria giggled at the
thought.

G'wen snickered and slapped her on the arm. "Enough about me, what
about you? Or you even?" He looked at Catrien, and deliberately did
not look Teseada's way, in case she didn't want to say she was seeing
Daran.

"Oh please! Like I have time for all that silliness!" Cat looked
thoroughly disgusted with the very thought of boys.

"Really, Cat? There's always time for a _love_ connection," Delria
joked. She sat up and fussed with her hair. "So, level with us. Who
really has your eye?"

"Oh, about a dozen little green eggs," she retorted back. Really,
what was the point in boys if you didn't have a little dragon to care
for as well?

Delria sighed forlornly. "Yeah, there's always them. Someday, Cat,
you'll see. We'll both find love of a different kind, of the best kind.
Is it really everything they say it is?" The Candidate looked to G'wen
and Teseada with her big green eyes looking for what she hoped was
confirmation.

"It is indeed," G'wen smiled back, giving her a quick squeeze around
the shoulders. "Tho..." and he picked up the book and opened it to
one page, "doing is_is_ a close second!"

"I think she meant impressing," Teseada said gently. "Although he is right
about the doing..."

"Ugh! You as well?" Catrien buried her head in a pillow.
