Teseada

Teseada

The brownrider had been running around like mad trying to get his
sweepgroups organized since they were now going out with Searchriders
to bring in candidates. Checking on the reports, he remembered he had
forgotten to find Teseada. He had meant to congratulate her on a job
well done even if he hadn't won the flight.

Heading out of his office thankful for the break, he walked toward the
hatching grounds, thinking he might find her there. }:She is there:{ Jodeth
supplied helpfully.

}:Not that long left,:{ Onnyth commented to her rider. }:We will have good
strong hatchlings.:{

Walking onto the grounds slowly, P'nal stopped and waited to be given
permission to enter. He didn't want to upset the young gold and as a senior
rider, he knew better. }:Mine comes to see yours, Onnyth the Beautiful:{

Onnyth turned her head. }:I hunger,:{ she said. }:Did you bring me food?:{

Hearing that Teseada raised her head from the hide she was sketching on.
Being on the sands like this was one of the few times she got to put in any
concerted effort to work on her project to walk the tables, although she
suspected the fact that it might ultimately benefit the Weyr was one of the
reasons she got away with it. "P'nal, come in."

The brownrider quietly came across the Sands to stop where she was. Looking
at what she was doing, he whistled low in admiration. "Very nice."

}:What would you like? Fat and juicy or all muscle?:{ The brown was eager to please.

}:The juicier the better,:{ Onnyth told the brown.

"It's for flame throwers," Teseada explained. "Should make controlling them
easier."

Jodeth disappeared to the feeding grounds, taking his time about picking a
choice beast for Onnyth's pleasure. When he spotted the one he wanted, he came down on it and cleanly broke its neck. Bringing it to her, his wings rustled as he landed in front of the entrance to the grounds. }:I have it, golden one:{

"Well I haven't had occasion to use those, but I'll take your word for it."
He glanced over at the eggs, considering what they meant. "I just wanted
to say congratulations. You did very well, the both of you."

"Thank you," she said. "Onnyth had the hard part though."

}:Then bring me it, don't let me waste away.:{

"We all know what can happen if a gold isn't properly controlled during a
flight." He nodded, then decided to go onto the more pleasant things. "So,
have you made any requests for the hatching to make it more personal?"

Jodeth had an odd shuffling gate as he sort of hopped across the hot
grounds. The brown had the herdbeast hanging from his maw and his wings
were folded, but his tail snaked out behind to help him keep his balance.
His rider saw him and tried his hardest not to laugh. When the brown reached the gold, he set it down for her and moved back.

Teseada couldn't help a little giggle as she saw the brown lay the kill down for Onnyth. But then she turned away to P'nal, "I discussed a menu with the headwoman, something to give it an authentic Dragonsfall touch."

"Good. I hear J'darin is quite pleased with himself." Of course, P'nal was
glad for his friend. He knew he needed a bit of validation after everything.

"Name me a bronzerider that would not be feeling smug round about now," she
said with a laugh. "After all, there is proof of what they can do on the
sands, and a clutch of dragonets to follow as living proof."

"Well I just wanted to say job well done. Is there anything you need?" he
looked around the grounds and took another look at the eggs.

"You couldn't get me some of those cheesy pastries could you? My mother
makes the best ones here and she usually leaves one or two out for me."

"I'll get right on that," he assured her, smiling. "Might send it by way of
a wingrider though. Nice being able to tell them what to do when you want."
P'nal enjoyed that perk, though he didn't abuse it often.

"Well if you spot Ferian, send her - we've not had a girly chat in ages."

"Ah Faranth, the dreaded girly chats. I better get going for sure!" Grinning, he gave her a small wave as he headed out of the grounds, Jodeth following along behind him.

She waved back, before turning to her sketch again.
