"So...he's a pretty thing, isn't he?" Sylvian watched F'neb's face
as they walked down the hallway to their weyr. She had tucked G'wen
into his bed, patted his lovely green and reassured him that no one
would do him any harm. Not after tonight and not if she had any say
in it. The last thing she was going to allow was any greenrider to be
pushed around.

"Yeah," F'neb said non-commitally as he put an arm around her.

"Pretty eyes, wouldn't you say? I always wanted brown eyes like
that." She snuggled into his side, wanting to forget all about
tonight but also knowing she needed some answers.

"Your eyes are all I want to look into," he said looking down and planting a
gentle kiss on her head. "Our dragons knew what they were doing when they
got us together."

She sighed at that and said nothing more until they were back in their
own weyr. Walking across the room, she pulled out a half full bottle
of wine and pored them both a glass. Handing him one, along with a
kiss, she sat down on the arm of the sofa. "You've slept with him,
haven't you?" There was no point in beating around the bush.

And there was no denying that look, "Yes," he admitted. "He, he wanted some
experience before the hatching."

"And that's it? Or do you still have feelings for him? Cos I've gotta
say I've never seen you move over there so fast, which makes me think
you were watching him for a bit." He was pretty enough, she had to
admit. She had been watching him for a bit as well, liking that type
of boy.

"There is something about him, he looks so helpless and it makes people want
to protect him," admitted F'neb slowly, watching Sylvian to see how she
would react to that statement. "I, it's not about sex."

"Yeah, there is." She had felt it as well, not being the type to
normally smash a wine bottle over someone's head. Then she snickered.
"But obviously, he's not. That jerk's going to have a broken nose
when he comes to. 'Couse that boy's got a broken hand as well." She
hadn't missed his badly swollen hand when she tucked him in.

"Well I suspect his 'friends', if he has any will get him to the healers.
And one of us better make sure G'wen get's checked out, and that J'darin
gets the real story."

"Don't worry, that B'nar's not gonna be able to rape anyone once I'm
finished." Her father was a brownrider in U'kaiah's wing, and she
knew a few wingmates of his who were always good for a favour like
this one.

"Well I could have a word with Teseada, that gold of hers could intimidate
anyone into behaving."

"Don't worry, I've got that covered." There was something else
bothering her. "Is he the only one you 'helped'?"

"There were a few others. But not any more."

She felt like throwing her glass across the room. "How many? HOW
MANY? And what do you mean 'not any more'? How can I trust you?"
Shards, how could she be so stupid?

"Does it matter now?"

"What do you mean, does it matter? Ugh! You bloody bluerider, can
one of you just make a stand, just once?!" She ground her teeth and
tried to resist throwing her glass at him. "That boy! That boy is so
much prettier than I could ever be...and how many besides him are
there? HOW MANY?"

This was a tough one, thought F'neb. However he answered she was going to be
angry. But if he didn't tell the truth - well he could see the anger in her
eyes. "He made six," he said after a long moment.

"All helpless cute little greenriders who just need your help?" She
swept up to him and stared down hard.

"Not all were helpless," but he was, or so it seemed. Helpless to resist
answering her questions.

"But they were all cute as buttons, I'm sure." She glared at him,
wanting to shove the idiot /between/.

"But with you it's more. Sylvian, look at me, _you_ are beautiful." And he
meant it with all his heart.

She didn't know to cry or punch him. "How will I know you won't go
straying back to one of those boys then?"

"Because I love you, and I've never said that to anyone else before."

"You mean it?" At that she sank down on the sofa beside him, feeling
like sobbing. Her long blond hair fell on the sides of her face like
a veil, hiding her away.

"I mean it," he said, lifting a hand to gently brush her hair away, allowing
him to lean in and place a kiss on her lips. "See," he said after a moment.

"Then show me. Really show me."

"Anything," he said. "Anything you want from me, it's yours."

Taking his hand, she led him to the bed.
