"Hey baby, you tired?" N'ki leaned in to E'naer, admiring all his
loveliness in an overtly familiar way. "You must be, cos you've been
running in my mind all day!" He reached up and caressed the
greenrider's back.
"Hi, N'ki. Couldn't you invent anything more original?" E'naer asked,
turning his body away from his hands. He had heard all possible pick
up lines and few impossible too.
"Hmm...wanna come back to my weyr for a bit of fun?" Maybe being
honest would work better?
"Hey, I've just gotten to the party and I haven't had a drink yet,"
E'naer answered. N'ki had been fun company when he had been younger,
but now the bluerider just got to his nerves. Maybe N'ki should mature
a bit too.
"Ah, hang on." N'ki was a cad, but he could be a nice guy from time
to time. Sometimes. He ran to fetch the lovely greenrider a glass of
the finest white wine. He was back before someone else could claim
E'naer's affections. "Here you go, lovely."
"Thank you," E'naer said graciously. "How's your sister doing in River
Bluff Weyr?"
"She's good, got herself tangled up with some fella she's not 100%
sure about. Something's up with the guy but she didn't spell it out
for me." He frowned a bit at that, concerned for his little sister.
He wished sometimes that she'd just come back to Dragonsfall instead
of sticking it out at River's Buff.
"I know the feeling and they don't want the brother sticking his nose
into her business," E'naer said, being older brother himself.
"Well, in her case, it's more she thinks she knows better. She's got
the morals of a Holder girl, that one. You'd never know we were from
the same mother." He shook his head good naturally at that. Roana and
he had always been quite different. But he missed having her about
all the same.
"Hm, Ennae and I are pretty much same when it comes to morals," E'naer said.
"You're lucky there. My baby sis acts like she rides gold sometimes
and not a green." Casually he put his arm around E'naer's shoulders.
"Each one is different," E'naer said and tried to sidestep that intruding arm.
"You're skittish tonight!" N'ki put the offending arm back to his
side and eyed E'naer. "You thinking of having another round with that
Sh'lua?" He hadn't seen the big blue rider but that wasn't to say the
man wasn't here as well.
"No, I have no plans," E'naer replied and then cursed mentally his own
honesty, that left an opening for N'ki. He should have just made up
something.
"Well then baby, why don't you get on the N'ki ride tonight then?"
"I don't know if I have the energy for it," the greenrider replied.
"All you have to do is lay there, no energy at all." He winked and
gave the poor greenrider a wink.
E'naer shuddered. "No thanks," he said.
"Well, maybe I can enjoy one or more of those Weyrlings. That N'den
boy is easy on the eyes." N'ki looked pleased at that thought.
E'naer nearly chocked on his wine and had a coughing fit. After he had
recovered, he said: "Have you ever thought about growing up?"
"Uh? What I do to deserve that remark?"
"You're what... 35 Turns old and you act like a 18 turns old on
hormone high," E'naer retorted.
"I'm a bloody rider! Which one of us doesn't act that way? Look at
bloody Sh'lua's behavior the other day! Or the bronze
boys_every_day." He gave E'naer an incredulous look.
"At least he believes the first no. " E'naer murmured.
"Did that boy actually say 'no'? What was he doing with such a tiny
little thing like that anyways? Last I had heard, that boy was seeing
that nice F'neb kid." N'ki shook his head at E'naer and his double
standards.
"Hah, he started it. That just show how deceiving looks can be," E'naer replied.
"You trying to tell me 'butter wouldn't melt in his mouth' G'wen
started that?" His beer threatened to go up his nose he was laughing
so hard.
"Seems like he can do more with his mouth than just pout," E'naer grinned.
"Maybe I should go look him up instead then. He does have a lovely
mouth." N'ki watched E'naer out of the corner of his eyes to see what
his reaction was to that.
"Ask Sh'lua how that will turn out," E'naer warned.
"Well, I'd have more sense than to let something that tiny anywhere
near the booze. One sniff of some whiskey and that one looks like
he'd pass out." N'ki shook his head at Sh'lua's missed opportunity.
"Yeah, well, having angry dragon and angry father burst into your weyr
isn't a picnic either."
"Exactly...keep that one sober and get him someplace deep in the Weyr
where his daddy or his crazy green can't find you..and have some fun.
Anyone with any sense is going to know that with any little weyrling,
particularly that one. You interested?" N'ki thought he'd throw that
one out as he'd never heard of E'naer being with a weyrling outside
that one who needed experience.
"None of your business," E'naer said with indignant tone. He was
indeed interested, but since he was Weyrlingmaster's third and the boy
was weyrling, he kept a tight lid over his emotions. Now, after he had
graduated to fighting wing...then it would be another matter. Who
knew, he might even take some action... Right now, it just wasn't
right, according his moral standards. It would be like taking
advantage of your position as a superior.
After he was out of weyrlinghood, they would be on more equal stand.
Just two greenriders, not teacher and pupil.
N'ki's eyes danced as he watched the emotions ride over E'naer's face.
"Okay, I'll stop teasing you about that one. He's off limits for
both of us, I get it." He held his hands up in surrender. "So if I'm
getting nowhere with you, how about another glass of wine? Yours
looks empty."
"Now, that's an offer I can accept," E'naer replied and gave him the
empty glass.
