Wirnan

Wirnan

It was quiet. It was dark. She sat in the darkness, the shadows
coalescing over her form. She lifted her gaze and peered through the
grey where shapes took forms only to shift and change. Where was she?

One of the moons began to peak over the horizon and the grey became
more luminous. The forest was around her, trees stretching toward the
sky. Trees protected by Dragons.

She shivered, arms crossing over her. Dragons...once again her gaze
lifted, this time to the sky, but none of the creatures roamed above
her. She took a step forward, her feet bare and caressed by the soft
grasses. Where was she?

The shadows shifted. A figure was moving, but it wasn't clear who or
what it was. At first it loomed up ominously. It was coming towards
her. Shadows swirled and shifted. It was a man. Who was he?

Kaya stepped back, skirts of her white dress swirling over her feet. "Who's
there? Who are you?" She called out, voice echoing. But then the figure
came into the moonlight, silver cast over gentle features - features she'd
come to know very well in a short time. "Wirnan?"

He emerged from the shadows, his body stepping up towards her, his arms
circling her as he began to lead them in a dance. He twirled her, her dress
floating out. Never once did he speak a word, his arms working her in
circles effortlessly.

She stiffened, but didn't fight his motions. Slowly she began to relax as
the rhythm of the dance soothed her, as their movements seemed to match, a
pair that fit together neatly. He anticipated her motions and she followed
his. As she turned away and came back, he caught her in his arms only to
swing her around again.

Soon they were dancing around a bed that had appeared out of nowhere. Wirnan
dipped her against the soft sheets, only to pull her up moments later and
twirl her in circles once more. This teasing, down and up continued until he
he spun her one last time. He caught her and pulled her towards him, her
back fitting perfectly against his body, even as he leaned his head and
kissed her neck. His tongue drawing lazy circles along her flesh.

Kaya shivered, the feel of his mouth against her intoxicating. She tilted
her head back, accepting his mouth, groating softly in soft encouragement.
She leaned back against him, her curves swelling into his lines, her hands
pressing against his thighs. She could feel his hands wandering, pressed
against the softness of her flesh, rough and gentle at the same time and
invoking an intense response from her body.

He twirled her away in circles, her dress unraveling in his hands as she
spun.

She pirouetted and spun and then fell onto the bed, hair splayed around her
head. He hovered over her, stripped of his clothing, his body glistening in
the light. Then he lowered himself down, his mouth covering hers in frantic
kisses. His hands wandered and touched, insistent, hungry. She cried out
as his teeth nipped at her lips and she kissed him back, hard, dizzying.
Her hands began to slid up and down his form as he shifted and poised over
her and...

Kaya's eyes flew open and she stiffened, listening. Nothing. No sound save
for the even, steady breathing of Wirnan, against whom she was pressed, her
top arm thrown over him. His own arms were around her, holding her loosely.
She swallowed and then wriggled so that she could put some distance between
them.

Why was she dreaming like this? She closed her eyes as she hovered on the
far edge of the bed. She shouldn't be having those dreams. She shouldn't
be having those dreams. She shouldn't be thinking of him like that!
Kaya's hand went to the locket that hung around her neck. Guilt assaulted
her and a tear ran down her cheek. She had let down her guard. She'd let
it down and now she was getting too close. She couldn't. It wasn't right -
it wasn't fair to him. The young woman rose and eased out of bed. It was
early, about an hour before she would normally rise, but she couldn't go
back to sleep. Not with him there. Not with....no. She had to stay away.
She couldn't keep this up. She had to do something - she couldn't betray Ristin!
